Nutritional literacy of adolescents

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the relationship between adolescent individuals and nutrition and diet. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to the characteristics of the adolescent period, the principles of optimal nutrition in adolescence, diseases that can result from improper diet or lack of knowledge in the field of nutrition, I identify common myths that can influence the food choices and eating behaviour of young people and discuss the principles of nutrition education. The practical part involves a survey of adolescents through a questionnaire survey, in order to gain deeper insight into adolescents' attitudes and behaviours regarding nutrition. I personally distributed the questionnaires in primary school in grades 7, 8 and 9 and in high school in grades 1, 2 and 3. Both schools are located in Kutná Hora. Students of both genders were interviewed. In the primary school I collected a total of 60 questionnaires, 30 from girls and 30 from boys. At the high school I also collected a total of 60 questionnaires, 30 from girls and 30 from boys. Thus, a total of 120 completed questionnaires. The questionnaire consisted of 25 questions. Boarding of preschool children in school canteen

The bachelor's thesis focuses on eating preschool children in the school canteen. It is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The introduction of the theoretical part describes the history of school meals. The main part consists of a description of the basic components of food and nutritional recommendations for given age categories. At the end the legislation on school meals is mentioned. The practical part is focused on the rating the menu with regard to the variety, use and processing of raw materials. Another criterion is the filling of the consumer basket in accordance with Decree No. 107/2005 Coll. Part of the evaluation is also a proposal to modify the menu. The materials for the evaluation are obtained from the responsible persons of the school canteens for a period of two consecutive months. The operations are represented in the number of three municipal canteens and three communal.

Adolescence is a stage of life that is associated with many changes that are an integral part of personality profiling. Admittedly, adolescents address the issue of eating, the question may be asked: "how does it acquire, process and evaluate information and whether it is able to apply knowledge to its diet". This work aims to determine the degree of influence of media on individuals, to determine the level of knowledge of adolescents in the field of healthy lifestyles, to find out the frequency of using the information obtained in direct practice. It focuses on a group of high school students aged 15-20 with a breakdown according to the nature of their education, including between grammar schools and art schools. The questionnaire form in the research part of the media environment and students' own decision-making information on the basics of nutritional literacy, ability to orientate in the environment of many different nutritional trends. The final part then assesses the acquired information and compares the individual preferences in selected levels, both from the total number of adolescents and between selected schools.
