Depictions of the Last Judgment Scene in the Czech Renaissance and Mannerism of the 15th and the 16th Centurie

Depictions of the Last Judgment Scene in the Czech Renaissance and Mannerism of the 15th and the 16th Centurie. The study submitted to fulfill the Bachelor Degree requirement, "Depictions of the Last Judgment Scene in the Czech Renaissance and Mannerism of the 15th and the 16th Centuries," analyzes several preserved frescoes with the theme of the Last Judgment and identifies their compositional and iconographic sources. The main ones are Johanes Sadeler's I. copper engravings of the Last Judgment (1550-1600). The graphic oeuvre of this Flemish artist, as the study demonstrates in a number of examples, exerted a considerable influence not only on his contemporaries but also on the art of later periods. Early Medieval Buttons from Bohemia in Cultural and Historical Context

Anglická anotace Presented BA thesis dealing with "Early Medieval buttons from Bohemia within their cultural and historic context" summarises the currently available archaeological material together with the published finds of the slavic buttons from 8th - 9th century in Bohemia. Introductional parts of the work characterize the button functions, materials used and fabrication technology. Major part of the thesis comprises the complete listing of the archaeological sites with the button finds, the description of buttons and the decoration typology. Bohemian finds are set in cultural and historic context as a part of the Great Moravian empire. Important part of the work is formed by the graphic plates of the individual sites and the comparative table including complementary fotodocumentation by the autor.
