Economic and environmental impacts of Prague-Ruzyně Airport and their perception by local and regional development actors

and Key words This thesis is a comprehensive study dealing with the impacts of airport Prague-Ruzyně Airport to the surrounding region. Prague airport in the last 10 years has significantly developed and this is also related to greater attention to its regional impacts. In the introductory part of this work there are discussed various economic and environmental impacts of airports and results of research in this area. There are defined some key concepts, which are then used in work. Then follows its own research about impacts of airport Prague-Ruzyně on housing development in the surrounding villages and districts. This is based on data on the development of population information, structured interviews with leaders of local governments and information from local development plans. We then discussed measures applied to reduce the environmental impacts of airport Prague-Ruzyně and suggest their individual improvement. Another part is devoted to the economic impacts of the airport to the surrounding region and the wider positive impacts on the economy of the Czech Republic. There is an analysis of direct and indirect employment at the airport.
