Bachelor work addresses construction history of the Castle in Světlá nad Sázavou. Describes in detail eventful history of preserved building, defines exterior of outer and courtyard frontispieces as well as castle grounds; interior of all rooms through all four floors up to close details including foremost valuable parget decorations. Introduces construction history of the building itself and surrounding gardens, defines historic and contemporary artistic values of the castle. Specifies most valuable details as well as blunt adaptations in 20th century. Integral part of the work is extensive photo documentation of individual rooms and described details, floor plans of historic and actual layout. This bachelor thesis is focused on a black color in a wider meaning. The theoretical part deals with a keystone of the black color, basic findings about it, its psychical actuation and symbology. Then it introduces graphic techniques, the possibilities of materials and instruments. Another part of this work introduces art of Francisco di Goya y Lucientes, his black paintings and graphic cycles. The practical part of work explores possibilities of a black planes in intaglio. The author describes the process of working on three books of intaglio prints.

Significance and role of the contemporary Czech scientific zoological illustration in educational literature

(in English): The diploma thesis focuses on the Czech contemporary scientific zoological illustration since 20th century till today. In the beginning it describes history and development of the scientific zoological illustration in Czech Republic. The main part of the thesis describes in detail the scientific zoological illustration in period since the 20th century till today. It reveals it's form, influences, techniques used and the work of it's main representatives. Thesis introduces realistic zoological illustration as used in professional and educational literature. It will try to uncover influence of computer-created imagery to conventional artistic techniques in the scientific zoological illustration. It will bring attention to the role of the scientific realistic illustration as well as its possibility to go beyond the educational purpose to boost reader's affinity for nature. It weighs the overall importance of the contemporary scientific zoological illustration.
