Optimization of derivatization reaction conditions for GC-MS analysis of selected compounds
Jan, Tomáš ; Kučera, Radim (advisor) ; Váňová, Nela (referee)
Charles University Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Analysis Supervisor: doc. PharmDr. Radim Kučera, Ph.D. Candidate: Tomáš Jan Title of Thesis: Optimization of derivatization reaction conditions for GC-MS analysis of selected compounds Quinolinic acid is an endogenous molecule, downstream product of the kynurenine pathway, through which the amino acid L-tryptophane is metabolised. Quinolinic acid acts as an agonist at the NMDA receptor. Overactivity of this receptor leads to the cell death of neurons. Current research shows the connection between a high level of quinolinic acid and a higher risk of neurodegenerative diseases development and behavioural disorders. The level can be increased by the excessive intake of tryptophane (e.g. food supplements declaring calming effect and mental health support) or ongoing inflammation in the organism. The current work deals with the development of an analytical method for the determination of quinolinic acid in various biological matrices using GC/MS and complements methods analysing other metabolites of tryptophan. Derivatization by alkyl chloroformate was met with success. The selectivity was compared on column RTX-5MS containing non-polar stationary phase and polar column SLB-IL59 using ion...

Severe Financial Situation of the Elderly and its Possible Solution Alternative Tools of the Social System of the Czech Republic
Gotschyová, Julie ; Kaczor, Pavel (advisor) ; Ján, Tomáš (referee)
The aim of my bachelor work is to evaluate the awareness of pensioners in the Czech Republic regarding the support and accessibility of our social system. The research was mainly focused on the financial resources of pensioners and their alternatives in case of financial difficulties. The secondary aim was to find out the best solution and recommend the best possible resources of our social system and to provide all information about it. The data presented in my bachelor thesis are drawn from the April 2013 laws, which are still in effect.
Airlinerʼs cost index
Ján, Tomáš ; Novák, Radek (advisor) ; Vinař, Marek (referee)
This diploma thesis is focused on cost index. Cost index is one of the method, which is used for cost optimalization in airline operation. Cost index compare time-related costs during flight and cost of fuel. Value of cost index influences cruise speed and fuel consumption, the higher cost index, the higher speed. Costs classification into fixed, variable and time-related costs is very important for cost index calculation. Goal of thesis is decribe importance of using cost index and advantages resulting from correct cost index application in airline operations. Practical part is focued on fuel consumption of Boeing 737 on specific routes and its evaluation. The goal is to compare calculated and real fuel consumption and find, if an airline is able to achieve calculated consumption in real operation.
Particularities of the entrepreneurial environment, business a cultural particularities of Sicily
Jan, Tomáš ; Gullová, Soňa (advisor) ; Zamykalová, Miroslava (referee)
The aim of this Bachelor work is to analyse the entrepreneurial environment of Sicily under the influence of local business and cultural particularities. The work is divided into three main parts. The first chapter deals with some geographical features and history of the country. The second chapter is devided into four more parts successively dedicated to economic, political, sociocultural and technological environment. In the last chapter I summarize the advantages and the disadvantages of the local market. Then I put together the results of the questionnaire concerning the companies with a seat in Sicily.
