Comparison of radio public service broadcasting in the Netherlands and the Czech Republic

This thesis is concerned with public service broadcasting systems in the Netherlands and the Czech republic. In the first part it deals with reasons of existence of public service broadcasting and demands made to them in general. It also follows up the question of objectivity of media and possible criticism of it. Second part of this thesis is focused on public service broadcasting in the Netherlands. Historical basis and the social environment and history of the Dutch public service broadcasting are outlined there. Information about funding and regulation of public service media can be also find there. In this part of the work author also describes instruments that are used in order to fulfill public service objectives as described in the first part. List of Dutch public broadcasters, TV and radio channels and their recognizable broadcasts is at the end of this part. The third part describes public service radio broadcasting in the Czech Republic. History of Czech Radio, in the democratic periods, funding and regulation system is in this part followed by requirements of public service media in the Czech perspective.
