Knowledge of patients with diabetes mellitus about hypoglycaemia.
Hromádková, Lucie ; Vlček, Jiří (advisor) ; Matoulková, Petra (referee)
Nowadays, diabetes mellitus belongs to wide-spread diseases. 4-7% of population suffer from diabetes in developed countries and the number is increasing. Education of patients with diabetes mellitus ensures effective treatment and it contributes to the delay of diabetic complications. Therapy itself without correct and effective patient education can hardly lead to successful treatment. One of the frequent diabetic complications is hypoglycaemia, which can be fatal due to patient ignorance. The aim of this pilot study was to evaluate the degree of patient knowledge about hypoglycaemia, to monitor its distribution among patients and to analyze its possible risk factors. Cross-sectional observational study was used for the analysis. Data were obtained from structured direct interviews carried out among diabetic patients. The study was performed in Faculty hospital in Hradec Králové. Submission of patients into the study was random. Patients with diabetes mellitus types 1. and 2. visiting the diabetologic centre in Faculty hospital in Hradec Králové were included. Information was gained from 100 patients (109 addressed (92 %)). The average age of respondents was 54 years and men prevailed (55 %). The number of diabetic patients of type 2 was two times higher than the number of diabetic patients of type...
Classification of meadow vegetation in the Krkonoše Mts. using aerial hyperspectral data and support vector machines classifier
Hromádková, Lucie ; Kupková, Lucie (advisor) ; Potůčková, Markéta (referee)
Meadow vegetation in the Krkonoše Mountains National Park is classified in this master thesis using aerial hyperspectral data from sensor AISA and Support Vector Machines (SVM) and Neural Networks (NN) classification algorithms. The main goals of the master thesis are to determine the best settings of SVM parameters and to propose an ideal design for a training dataset for this classification algorithm and mapping of the meadows in the Krkonoše mountains. The criterion of the tests will be the result of classification accuracy (confusion matrices and kappa coefficient). The additional goal of the master thesis is to compare performances of both utilized classifiers, especially regarding the amount of training pixels necessary for successful classification of the mountainous meadow vegetation. Classification maps of the area of interest and Python scripts are the main outputs of the master thesis. These outputs will be handed over to the Administration of the Krkonoše Mountains National Park for further utilization in the monitoring and protecting these valuable meadow vegetation communities. Key words: hyperspectral data, AISA, Support Vector Machines, Neural Networks, training dataset, mountainous meadow vegetation

Analysis of the Selected Drug Problems in some Rheumatic Diseases
Hromádková, Lucie ; Vlček, Jiří (advisor) ; Macek, Karel (referee) ; Bradna, Petr (referee)
Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy Candidate Mgr. Lucie Hromádková Supervisor Prof. RNDr. Jiří Vlček, CSc. Title of Doctoral Thesis Analysis of the selected drug problems in some rheumatic diseases. Introduction: Systemic connective tissue diseases are specific in nature and usually need to be treated with long-term aggressive treatment consisting of a higher number of drugs. A need for treatment of other, sometimes related conditions is common as well. The higher number of drugs, the presence of unpleasant side effects and complicated dosing schedules may create a suitable environment for development of drug related problems, such as drug interactions and patient drug compliance. Objectives: The purpose of the work is to analyze two drug related problems (drug interactions and drug compliance) in the area of pharmacotherapy of systemic connective tissue diseases. The work is aimed to review interactions of glucocorticosteroids, immunosuppressants and antimalarial drugs with common medicines used in practice, to analyze drug compliance and its potential risk factors in systemic scleroderma and to summarize existing knowledge about drug compliance in rheumatoid arthritis. Methods: Drug interactions were investigated during a...
Carbamazepine - a study on the input to surface waters
Hromádková, Lucie ; Fuksa, Josef (advisor) ; Cajthaml, Tomáš (referee)
Anticonvulsant carbamazepine is a pharmaceutical, which is necessary to be taken continuously. Moreover carbamazepine and its metabolites are resistant to microbial degradation and sorption onto sludge in present municipal wastewater treatment plants. Therefore carbamazepine and its metabolites pass through WWTP and are constantly discharged to surface waters. Concentrations of carbamazepine measured in surface waters are too low to cause acute toxicological effects, but chronic toxicological effects or synergic effects with other pharmaceuticals cannot be excluded. Due to its physico-chemical properties carbamazepine is recalcitrant to degradation in surface waters and in soil, thus it infiltrates through bedrock to ground water. So far there is not enough information on behaviour and effects of metabolites of carbamazepine in surface waters. Besides carbamazepine, also other pharmaceuticals are nowadays often detected in surface and ground water and in the soil. Furthermore, as the population grows the consumption of pharmaceuticals increases as does their input into environment. However, given the risks, which pharmaceuticals in the environment entail, it is necessary to reduce additional input of these micropolutants into environment. As pharmaceuticals can enter the environment by many pathways, there...

Analysis of the Kashmir Territorial Dispute and the Perspective of Its Resolution
Hromádková, Lucie ; Volenec, Otakar (advisor) ; Havlová, Radka (referee)
This bachelor thesis aims to analyse the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan about the states of Jammu and Kashmir. The conflict broke out in 1947 after India gained independence on the British Empire. So far the two principal parties have not reached mutual solution. With the rise of nuclear threat, the issue is gaining more importance. This thesis investigates the main causes of the conflict and further characterises the two actors and the bone of contention. In the last part of the thesis, the author focuses on the possible resolution of the conflict.
