It comes out from Prague contemporary press and correspondence. It includes all aspects of musical life - education, church music, various concerts, festivities, theatre performances etc. Special attention is giving participation of prague elite at this cultural life, especially phenomenon of prague nobility patronage. Stays of W. A. Mozart and L. van Beethoven in Prague are the typical example of artistic concert tours, that the musicians undertook for profit and connections. In Prague press we can see taste of Prague audience - we learn a lot about importace of this stays from frequency and character of news. While we are very well informed about W. A. Mozart's stays from newspapers and correspondence and memoirs of contemporaries, we have only fragmentary informations about L. van Beethoven's visits here. It is proof of importance of W. A. Mozart and L. van Beethoven for contemporary musical reception, but also of social-cultural changes in Czech lands. They have become as consequence of the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars. Period is not friendly to entertainment and Prague newspapers are full war news.
