Gabriela Havejová Title: Usege of the Spiraldynamic Concept in Rehabilitation of the Hemiparetic Arm from the Perspective of Occupational Therapy Abstract: Stroke is the most commonly acquired brain damage, while the second place is held by traumatic brain injuries. These diagnosis not only have high mortality rate, but surviving patients are very often left with lasting life long consequences. Subsequent disability of the upper limb is very crucial consequence. This results in, among other things, problems with self-sufficiency and ADL, whilst patients find a need for assistance of other people. As part of occupational therapy, we strive for the greatest possible recovery of self-sufficiency and support of independence, the restoration of upper limb function is therefore extremely important. In case of stagnation or chronicity, occupational therapy is fundamentally involved in learning alternative mechanisms to improve the quality of life and selecting compensatory aids. The aim of the thesis is to find other options for upper limb rehabilitation. The main goal is to find out whether elements of the Spiraldynamic concept could help in a function restoration of the hemiparetic arm, and whether it is applicable to the elements of...
Examination of Apraxia Following Stroke in Occupational Therapy
Zimolová, Lucie ; Havejová, Gabriela (advisor) ; Rejtarová, Anna (referee)
of the Thesis: Bachelor Thesis is interested in the possibility of diagnostics of apraxia following stroke in Occupational Therapy. The aim of the thesis is to find an appropriate test for the examination of apraxia following a stroke. Theoretical part deals with the issue of apraxia, describes its etiopathogenesis, possibilities of classification and introduces the clinical picture of an apractic patient in occupational therapy. A chapter itself is dedicated to the overview of individual tests. The conclusion of the theoretical part presents the summary of available tests for examination of apraxia. On this basis, tests to be compared in the practical part are chosen. The practical part deals with the issue of selection of a suitable test for examination of apraxia. Three freely available testing instruments discovered in the theoretical part are compared. These tests are the Naturalistic Action Test, Apraxia Test and Apraxia Screen of TULIA. All of them are rated in pre-terminated areas which are based on information acquired in the theoretical part of the thesis. Each patient did undergo all three of the tests, thus creating seven casuistries. Knowledge gained from the practical use of the tests reflects on their overall rating. The conclusion of the practical part finds the Apraxia Test the...

Havejová, Gabriela ; Krulová, Anna (advisor) ; Angerová, Yvona (referee)
The aim of this master thesis is to elaborate the issue of the PEDI-CAT test and to evaluate its contribution in the proces of occupational therapy in patients with medulloblastoma. The theoretical part deals with the test itself, its origin, process of standardization and comparison with the older version of the test. The theoretical part further informs about the possibility of using the test in different areas and in different diagnoses. The last part of the theory analyzes the area of occupational therapy in pediatric patients with diagnosis of medulloblastoma. The practical part contains three case reports of pediatric patients diagnosed with medulloblastoma, which make it described the benefits of practical use of the PEDI-CAT test in occupational therapy in this diagnosis. In the appendices of the thesis is a brief guide to the test, translated by the author of the thesis, which can serve as a guide to facilitate the work with the test, for those who will take the test in practice. The contribution of this thesis is to introduce the PEDI-CAT to the professional public in the Czech Republic. Putting the PEDI-CAT into practice will help facilitate testing and evaluating the outcome of occupational therapy in pediatric patients. Furthermore, the contribution of this thesis is to evaluate the...
