Economic Impacts of Smart Grids

The goal of this thesis is to assess the impact of the smart grids implementation on PRE Distribuce, a third largest electricity distributor in the Czech Republic. The first part of the thesis presents an overview of the current energy value chain, including the division of tasks and responsibilities. Following this is the definition of the smart grid, its drivers, benefits and key barriers of its implementation. The analytical part provides a scenario analysis of the smart grid roll-out, where the first scenario assumed implementation of all technologies and components within five years and the second scenario assumes implementation in line with the depreciation of traditional components. Furthermore, the cash flow impact and NPV of the project under both scenarios is provided.

Air Passangers' Rights in the EU

The Bachelor's Thesis deals with the consumer situation in the field of Air transport in the EU. It analyzes the current situation in the airline industry and provides a study of the legislation in the field of Air Passenger Rights. The aim of this thesis is the analysis of airline compliance with the rights of air travellers and the consumers' awareness. The thesis is also concerned with the airport security from the consumer's point of view. The method used for a primary data collection was an Internet questionnaire. The collected data were processed by methods of descriptive statistics and regression analysis. The survey detects that the airline compliance with the legislation is insufficient and the level of consumer awareness is very low. On the basis of a correlation between these variables the thesis recommends increase of consumer awareness.

Particularity of the Trade Proceedings in the USA

Práce se zaměřuje na popis a analýzu zvláštností obchodního protokolu ve Spojených státech. Jejím cílem je v rámci obecných souvislostí daných specifickým kulturním a historickým vývojem tato specifika identifikovat a upozornit na důležitost jejich znalosti při obchodním styku. Podrobněji se práce zabývá také nejčastěji používanými obchodními taktitami a popisuje obchodní stategii používanou Američany při jednání se zahraničními obchodními partnery. Z hlediska vztahu k České republice jsou identifikovány nejčastější chyby českých exportérů, kterých se dopouští při vstupu na americký trh, a jsou stanovena doporučení, jak případným komplikacím předcházet.
