The potential of parking-lots at railway stations for commuting to Prague
Malátek, David ; Marada, Miroslav (advisor) ; Haas, Václav (referee)
Metropolises like Prague are increasingly burdened by the negative aspects of growing individual car transportation. The most significant burden likely comes from the daily commute for employment from the broader Prague region to the capital. Public mass transit options are limited, and there are various reasons why people are unwilling or unable to relinquish the use of their own means of transportation. A significant reason is the limited transportation accessibility in residential areas. In contrast, in Prague, transportation accessibility is generally at a high level. Therefore, to alleviate this, Park and Ride (P+R) facilities are being established near railway stations or metro stations on the outskirts of the capital. However, in the broader Prague region within the Central Bohemian Region, such facilities are still relatively scarce. This thesis will examine the potential of Park and Ride facilities at railway stations in the Prague metropolitan area for suburban transportation, with a focus on commuting to work and schools. The issue will be elucidated based on sources of professional literature and statistical data. Subsequently, an analysis will be conducted to evaluate the feasibility of using P+R facilities for commuting to work or schools for individual municipalities in the studied...

Subsequently, the thesis analyses the existing contractual relationships of both participants and defines the main aspects of the newly accepted agreement. Lastly, the current effect of the efficiency of the agreement on the trade with goods and services is analysed.
The influence of the constructive vote of no-confidence on the stability of governments in post-communist countries
Haas, Václav ; Lebeda, Tomáš (advisor) ; Švec, Radek (referee)
The subject of the thesis is to analyse the influence of the constructive vote of no confidence on the governments stability in post-communist countries. The thesis is divided into six chapters. The first three chapters deal on general basis with the importance of government stability for the functioning of a political regime, the principles of rationalized parliamentarism and the specific features of the constructive vote of no confidence. The two following chapters focus on the political systems of Germany, Hungary, Poland and Slovenia. Emphasis is put on the process of a constitutional text adoption, the different legal standards of the constructive vote of no confidence and the moments in political development when this constitutional element played an important role. The government constitutional law bill, the adoption of which would mean to implement the constructive vote of no confidence into the constitutional and political system of the Czech Republic, is not omitted either. The final chapter analyses, on the basis of four adopted expert studies, the real impact of the constructive vote of no confidence and the resulting differences among the selected post-communist countries, some of which have embodied this institution into their constitutional system and some have not.
Reflection on the British attitude towards membership in the EC/EU under the premiership of Harold Macmillan and David Cameron
Haas, Václav ; Kolman, Ondřej (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Pavel (referee)
The thesis reflects on the British attitude towards membership in the European Communities and the European Union under the premiership of Harold Macmillan and David Cameron, respectively. The theoretical section of the thesis defines the basic concepts related to the topic and presents available theoretical approaches. Closer attention is dedicated to traditional institutionalism, which defines the categories of costs and benefits as well as the sources of preferences that determine the government's decisions on ascension to the European integration process. In its practical section, the thesis outlines British opinions on individual stages and milestones of the European integration ranging from World War II to the filing of the official application for accession to the European Economic Community. The paper also identifies specific factors that participate in the decision-making process to redefine European politics under Macmillan's and Cameron's governments. The principal finding is that the two governments ascribe highly differing importance to individual types of costs and benefits and prefer different viewpoints in the decision-making process, which naturally leads to different conclusions.
