Design of the open wind tunnel measuring section
Behúl, Michal ; Grim, Robert (referee) ; Hájek, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design and optimization of the test section of an aerodynamic tunnel, focusing on achieving ideal flow conditions. The aim of the thesis is to design an open-jet section for the current setup of the aerodynamic tunnel at the Institute of Aerospace Engineering. The introduction of the work is dedicated to familiarizing with aerodynamic tunnels. The main part of this work is the design of the open-jet section, which involves the design of the nozzle and the collector. Subsequently, it includes verifying the functionality of the design through calculations and CFD simulations.
Flight performance of competition RC airplane
Majtán-Černák, Tomáš ; Zikmund, Pavel (referee) ; Hájek, Tomáš (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis is dealing with designing procedures for measuring flight performances of aircraft model, built according to Air Cargo Challenge 2015 competition regulations. Firstly, the competition is introduced, together with its requirements and regulations. Then, aircraft with its basic design parameters is presented. As a basis for designing flight test, thesis includes introduction of theory on this matter. Finally, Bachelor thesis contains measurement methodology itself as well as evaluation of the results.

Propulsion unit of competition model airplane
Vančo, Miroslav ; Matějů, Jiří (referee) ; Hájek, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with the design and validation of the operation of the model propulsion system, according to the Aero Design East rules. The introduction is focused on rules and regulations of the competition and then, the point analysis is carried out. The research section is devoted to an overview of the propulsion system components and their basic parameters. The most appropriate configurations of the propulsion system are selected, based on calculations from the manufacturer´s datasheet. These configurations are then validated by measurements of static thrust and measurements in aerodynamic tunnel. In these measurements, the responses of the limiter for boundary power are also examined. In the last part, the choice of the propulsion system is completed.
Parachute descent impact reduction

Wing system design of competition aircraft
Mahdal, Vít ; Hájek, Tomáš (referee) ; Katrňák, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the wing system design of competition aircraft. The thesis consists of five main parts. The first part is an introduction to the competition – Air Cargo Challenge, and the mission of UAV. The second part details the compilation of flight envelope and loads acting on the aircraft. Part three describes stress analysis of the old fabric method of wing construction. Part four of the thesis gives suggestions of a new wing system design, and its stress analysis. The final part of this bachelor’s thesis describes the advantages and disadvantages of the new system design, and compares them to the old version.
Unmanned aerial vehicle for aerological measurement
Knoth, Adam ; Balážová, Renáta (referee) ; Hájek, Tomáš (advisor)
The main output of this bachelor thesis is the design of aerological measurement, which will allow more frequent measurements. The first part of thesis - a search - mentions the types of radio probes and related legislation for their discharge. The second part proposes a method of aerological measurement, which is compared with classical measurement.
Conceptual design of competition model airplane
Pospíšil, Jakub ; Vaněk, František (referee) ; Hájek, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the conceptual design of a competition model of an aircraft for an international student competition. The introduction deals with the rules of the competition and their subsequent analysis. The research part deals with a possible concept of the aircraft from the point of view of various configurations of individual parts of the model. In the practical part, the characteristics of individual parts of the aircraft are processed and a mass analysis is performed.
Competition aircraft F1A wing design
Jurina, Marek ; Pejchar, Jan (referee) ; Hájek, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis deals with wing design of competition category glider F1A. Flight modes are analyzed. The following part deals with aerodynamic design of wing with the use of XFLR5 software. Maximum load is defined and its distribution along wing span. Thesis also include design of internal layout with the selection of materials. Stress analysis is executed by analytic method.
