The bachelor's thesis focuses on the rehabilitation of covid-19 patients with ongoing difficulties. Patients had to be hospitalized in the acute phase of disease because of breathing difficulties and reduced blood saturation caused by covid pneumonia. Participants of studies were part of a rehabilitation programme at the Klinika rehabilitačního lékařství Fakultní nemocnice Královské Vinohrady. Each patient enrolled in the study had at least 2 weeks of intensive therapy. The first objective of the study was to determine the effect of interventional rehabilitation on patients. The second goal the study had was whether wearable electronics monitoring patients' physical activity would have a positive effect on the outcome of therapy. Methods: The study enrolled 13 patients when the entry conditions were met. They were randomly divided into two groups: into a research group (6) and a control group (7). Prior to the study, all patients were screened using standardized tests - Berg balance test, Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-21 and General Anxiety Disorder-7 test and their oxygen saturation was also measured. After that, all patients underwent at least 2 weeks of interventional rehabilitation. In addition, participants' research groups had electronic Xiaomi Mi Band watches that monitored their physical...
Distant therapy significant after Facial nerve paralysis
Tupikina, Uliana ; Grünerová Lippertová, Marcela (advisor) ; Zvelebilová, Pavlína (referee)
Rehabilitation of facial nerve paresis is both a time-consuming and physically demanding process, which also requires a lot of patience and motivation to achieve favorable results. This bachelor's thesis The importance of distance therapy after facial nerve paresis deals with the issue of facial nerve palsy and its treatment options. The aim of this bachelor thesis was to test the newly developed virtual Mirror therapy program for immediate side effects. The aim of the theoretical part was to summarize knowledge regarding etiopathogenesis, diagnosis and therapy of facial nerve paresis. For the practical part, the newly created virtual Mirror therapy program for paresis of the facial nerve was used. A pilot study of the newly developed Facial Reeducation program was conducted in a home environment in 10 healthy probands and in a patient with facial nerve palsy to test the software for immediate side effects. Probands (n=10) had the opportunity to try the therapeutic concept in the first part of the practical part in the form of beta testing lasting 30 minutes. I then verified the results in the second part in the form of a case report on a patient with facial nerve paresis who completed a 6-week therapy at home. The obtained data are evaluated in the results of the bachelor thesis. The discussion...
The effect of fine motor skills training on cognitive functions in patients after stroke
Svobodová, Kateřina ; Grünerová Lippertová, Marcela (advisor) ; Vogner, Martin (referee)
Tittle: The effect of fine motor skills training on cognitive functions in patients after stroke. Objective: The objective of this work is to determine the effect of fine motor skills training on cognitive functions in patients after stroke and if they differ from patients not undergoing this training. Methods: The research group consists of 9 stroke patients hospitalised at the Clinic of medial rehabilitation of FNKV in Prague. 5 of the participants were in the experimental group. They underwent initial examination of cognitive functions and fine motor skills, after that they underwent three weeks of intensive fine motor skills training. At the end the same final examination was made again. 4 participants were in the control group, which did the inital and final examination, but didn't participate in the training added by this study. Paired and non-paired t-tests were used to analyse the result data. Results: The research showed a positive effect and more prominent improvement in MoCA-CZ3 cognitive test in patients who underwent the three weeks of intensive training of fine motor skills than in patients in the control group undergoing the basic care program of the clinic. Conclusion: The training of patients in fine motor skills caused more prominent improvement of cognitive functions and fine...
The factors affecting the course of rehabilitation after Covid-19 Infection
Hynková, Simona ; Grünerová Lippertová, Marcela (advisor) ; Zahálka, František (referee)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the rehabilitation of patients after the Covid-19 disease. The patients were part of a rehabilitation programme at the clinic of rehabilitation at University Hospital Královské Vinohrady, where they underwent intensive therapy for up to 2-3 weeks. The aim of this bachelor's thesis was to determine the efficacy of the therapy in all patients, but also the differences between patients according to the diseases they had associated. Methods: For 13 selected patients after undergoing covid-19, the data were collected data on their health using anamnestic data in the medical documentation and Covid-19 Mental Health Questionaire (CoPaQ) questionnaire. Using the data, there were selected the most frequently occurring diseases and complications by which the effectiveness of the therapy was evaluated. Motor skills, self-sufficiency and shortness of breath were assessed in the clinic according to standardised tests, which are as follows: saturation, a Berg balance scale, a Barthel index, a Borg scale, a modified functional self-sufficiency test, and an Expanded Barthel Index, which was not included in the specific results because it barely changed. Results: A Wilcoxon paired t-test was performed in assessing the effectiveness of rehabilitation in total, rather than...
Motor skills and cognition within rehabilitation of patients after Covid-19 disease
Kleisnerová, Eliška ; Grünerová Lippertová, Marcela (advisor) ; Zahálka, František (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on motor skills and cognition within rehabilitation of patients after covid-19 disease. The main objective was to evaluate the results of rehabilitation program of the clinic of rehabilitation in University Hospital Královské Vinohrady. Methods: 10 individuals were chosen after severe course of disease covid-19. With those patients I made a survey using COVID-19 Pandemic Mental Health Questionnaire (CoPaQ). I chose to evaluate the first part of questionnaire which informs us about health conditions of patients and their closest ones while also informing us about their psychosocial situation. After that I have collected basic information about patients which was in health documentation. Input and output data available about most patients included: saturation of oxygen, respiratory amplitude, Berg Balance Scale, Barthel Index and modified Functional Independence Measure. Results of the Montreal Cognitive Assesment are also involved into this thesis. Results of the initial and exit examination were mutually compared in order to evaluate the effects of the rehabilitation program. A part of a survey was also evaluated. Results: The results show that resting saturation of oxygen increased (p= 0,005053176) along with post-exertion saturation (p= 0,009384185). There was also...
Influence of motoric training on chronic back pain
Sliacká, Blanka ; Grünerová Lippertová, Marcela (advisor) ; Zahálka, František (referee)
The main objective: The goal of this thesis was to examine the problematics of chronic back pain, to find out whether patients, suffering from chronic back pain, will achieve statistically significant improvement in weight distribution while standing as well as patients' stance after participating in the motoric training. Also to recognise statistically significant overall improvement in all tests (two scales test, Moiré topography, numeric pain rating scale) after participating in motorical training/exercise. And verify whether the change in chronic pain is related to the change of weight distribution when standing as well as body posture. Methodology: Research on "Impact of motoric training on cognitive functions and psychological state of patients suffering with chronic pain" was conducted as a part of the students scientific activity and data produced were used in this thesis. Those data involve anamnesis and pain: numeric rating scale of pain - intensity and unpleasantness of the pain (NRS I/N). This study examines a reduced sample of patients from the aforementioned research. The study was conducted over the course of 4 months. It covers 17 probands - 11 women and 6 men, aged between 39 to 73 years old, with chronic back pain, hospitalized at the University Hospital Královské Vinohrady at the...
Monitoring side effects during standard physiotherapy and functional electrical stimulation in the critically ill patients
Škárová, Viktória ; Hrušková, Natália (advisor) ; Grünerová Lippertová, Marcela (referee)
This thesis compares the rate of adverse events in standard and intensified physiotherapy. The theoretical part of thesis provides basic information about rehabilitation in intensive care of various procedures, which are recommended, and also safety criteria that must be followed when working with the patient. This work is also based on these safety principles and limitations. In this part is introduced the term functional electrical stimulation, it's history, effects, use and brief description of the study, on the basis of which the practical part is performed. In the practical part of this work there is observation of the values of five variables - systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, saturation, pulse, and minute ventilation - observed on ten patients. The results showed that in three variables there was no difference in the rate of adverse events in both therapies, in one variable a higher rate was found in standard therapy and in one variable in intensified therapy. The results also showed a relatively high variation in the rate of adverse events for individual therapies and patients. KEYWORDS Standard physiotherapy, intensified therapy, functional electrical stimulation assisted cyclic ergometry (FES-CE), adverse event, systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, saturation, pulse, minute...
