Influence of technological factors on the hardness of wood
Šafaříková, Lenka ; Gašparík, Miroslav (advisor) ; Ruman, Daniel (referee)
Focus of the diploma thesis is to investigate the influence of the selected factors (type of wood, thickness, densification) on the wood hardness. For the experimental measurements the Brinell hardness test method was used. The hardness measurements were performed on the specimens made from two different types of wood. Obtained results were statistically analyzed into the graphs. The main goal of the thesis was to determine the change in the static hardness in dependence on the previously mentioned factors. From the experimental data it can be seen that the wood hardness increases with the higher degree of densification . This phehomenon applies to both investigated wood materials which are European beech (Fagus sylvatica) - hardwood specimen and European aspen (Populus tremula) - softwood specimen.
Assessment of the impact of the type of wood on the properties of snowboard board core
Jiřík, Adam ; Borůvka, Vlastimil (advisor) ; Gašparík, Miroslav (referee)
Snowboarding as one of the fastest developing sports nowadays forces manufacturers to improve equipment for this sport or to introduce other innovations that would enhance pleasure of the ride. The most important and expensive part of the equipment is the snowboard itself. So far, the high-quality snowboards with the best ride properties include wood core. Every year a competition called Good Wood is organized for the best snowboard models of the season. This thesis deals with design and assessment of the new innovative composition of snowboard cores using different combinations of wood and other structural solutions. These compositions were compared with an already time-proven composition currently used by Hackboards Ltd. company. By using the stress simulation with the finite element method in SolidWorks Simulation program the stress progress and the deflection size of designed cores and the reference core were found out. Part of this thesis was also determining some of the physical and mechanical properties of native wood types according to relevant norms. Measured values were used to verify possibilities of using data of appropriate wood type from literatur efor simulation. Designed composition of the wood core formed by battenboard combining by poplar and beech reached very similar values as the reference composition formed by battenboard made of poplar and ash. The composition of combined laminated poplar and beech veneers showed a little worse properties. The composition formed by beech battenboard and the composition of laminated beech veneers showed worse properties in comparison with the reference composition.
Laminated wood-based composites with using non-wood materials
Pechar, Vojtěch ; Gašparík, Miroslav (advisor) ; Ruman, Daniel (referee)
This paper is about using non-wood materials in combination with laminated or differently combinated wood materials and observes interaction between those materials during tests. In paper there is comparison between wood-based materials with non-wood materials and its evaluation. Paper describes combination these materials and describes behavior between them.
Thermowood and its properties in relation to the impregnation by preservatives
Cihlář, Martin ; Gašparík, Miroslav (advisor) ; Sarvašová Kvietková, Monika (referee)
The bachelors thesis with name Thermowood and its properties in relation to the impregnation by preservatives is focused current technology and methods of impregnation thermally modified wood. The bachelors thesis shows fire safety, resistance to insect and mold and natural durability. Characteristic chemical, physical and mechanical changes thermally unmodified wood and thermally modified wood and influence natural durability, resistance and wood protection on finally use.
Milling process analysis of thermally modified wood
Dvořák, Ondřej ; Sarvašová Kvietková, Monika (advisor) ; Gašparík, Miroslav (referee)
The work is focused on the characteristics of the milling process of thermally modified wood as a new type of material with an innovative internal structure achieved by heat and humidity treatment. The work is divided into three parts. The first part focuses on the theoretical summary of the method of milling and a brief analysis of various types of the process. The second part specializes in description of thermally modified wood as the new technical material. The final part deals with the influence of properties of "thermowood" on milling process.
Sanding process and sanding abrasives for wood
Kříženecký, Ondřej ; Sarvašová Kvietková, Monika (advisor) ; Gašparík, Miroslav (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the process of sanding and abrasive materials for wood. It characterizes the process equalize inequality surface of the wood and wood-based materials, which is important operations in the finishing products with highest quality level. It describes the basic methods of machining and sanding their effect on the final surface quality. In the introductory section concisely describes the history of sanding. The next part deals with the main factors affecting the sanding process and their influences on sanding wood. The main part is dedicated to the distribution of abrasive instrument. The structure of abrasive and its characteristics. Describes kinds of abrasive materials and their features. It analyzes the production of abrasive. The next sections deals with the determination of surface quality, surface preparation before sanding, repairing defects and storage of abrasive intruments. The last part analyze the machinery for wood sanding and their distribution. Describes a circular, cylindrical and belt sanders and their characteristics.
Principles targeted Edit the properties of layered materials
Houžvíček, Petr ; Gaff, Milan (advisor) ; Gašparík, Miroslav (referee)
Target of the thesis was an investigation of the influence of selected factors (tree species, thickness of material, type of glue and cyclic loading) and their combinations on strength properties of laminated lumber. This measured properties were: bending strength, modulus of elasticity, limit of proportionality, coefficient of bendability and shear strength of glued joint. Most important factor for bending strength, modulus of elasticity and limit of proportionality was the tree species. For coefficient of bendability and shear strength of glued joint the most important was the material thickness. Influence of cyclic loading and type of glue, weren´t proved. After that, we simulated our investigation which we made in computer program based on finite element method. The simulation corresponded just for thicker tested samples.
