The most frequented location was Luční bouda and U čtyř pánů in Giant Mountain National Park. But on the top of the Pustevny, the amount of walkers was twice times bigger. Statistically, it was subsequently found some answers to the dependence of demografic characteristic of population of respondents. Sustainable tourism and conservation of nature in NP (emphasis on NP Sumava)
Fiedlerová, Jana ; Čihař, Martin (advisor) ; Görner, Tomáš (referee)
Compilation part of the Bachelor thesis is focused on sustainable development and tourism. An integral part is conservation management with a focus on the NP Šumava. Thesis mainly concentrates on evaluating the impact of tourism on the environment whereas one chapter/part is an analysis of winter tourist season in mountain areas. The experimental part deals with monitoring of tourims in NP Šumava to which was used a method of questionnaire survey. The emphasis is put on winter sports tourism. Research results (from winter season) are compared with summer surveys. Among new findings belong a increase of car traffic by 5%, absence of adequate car parking facilities/parking spaces and diverse opinions of summer and winter visitors. Based on these results relevant management disposals are introduced.
Management of alien plant species in Prague
Fleischhans, Richard ; Pergl, Jan (advisor) ; Görner, Tomáš (referee)
Invasive and alien plants are one of the factors threatening biodiversity. Influence of this factor will become stronger in the future because of climate change. In local or regional areas these species are capable of disturbing material and energetic flows, change properties of environment and affect (often negatively) materials and services provided by ecosystems. This is the reason why invasive species are becoming targets of eradication and other interventions leading towards reducing their numbers and spread in invaded area. Despite these efforts, expansion and number of invasive alien species is growing in the world. Mainly globalization, more intensive traffic through countries and continents drive spreading of plants to new areas. There are not many examples of successfull eradication projects which led to complete removal of alien invasive plants on bigger areas. The majority of successfull removal of these species took place on islands. Fails of these efforts were caused probably by the need of repeating management action over the affected areas several years after. It is necessary to have clear idea since the beginning of the intervention about time frame of intervention and arrange enough money, material and personal capital. The obstacle to succesfull intervention may also be...
Sustainable tourism in selected protected areas in the Czech Republic
Görner, Tomáš
The designation of protected areas is currently the most widely adopted means of conserving natural ecosystems. Whilst the conservation of nature is the primary concern in protected areas, it is also recognized that meeting the needs and priorities of participants (e. g. local residents, visitors) is vital to the long-term survival of such areas. Studies dealing with attitudes of participants may improve protected area management, and help to identify the problems in the area. The Ph.D. thesis "Sustainable tourism in selected protected areas in the Czech Republic" was carried out in Krkonose National Park (KPNAP), Sumava National Park (NP) and Protected Landscape Area (PLA) in the Czech Republic and in Karkonoski Park Narodowy (KPN) in Poland. Many socioenvironmental research studies have been done focusing on the problems of tourism in these areas. The results of these studies could be affected by the timing and location of the survey. The main objective of the research is to compare characteristics and attitudes of visitors and local people in protected areas in different seasons (winter and summer) and in different types of protected areas (national parks and protected landscape area). The first part of the results finds the differences between perceptions and attitudes of visitors of the...
