Mixing cards and convergence of Markov chains
Drašnar, Jan ; Prokešová, Michaela (advisor) ; Beneš, Viktor (referee)
This thesis presents mixing of a deck of cards as a random walk on the group of permutations. Perfectly shuffled deck of cards is defined as uniform distribution on this group. For analysis of the distance between the uniform distribution and the current distribution of the Markov chain generated by the shuffling quite general methods are used that can be applied to many other problems - i.e. strong stacionary time, coupling and transformation to an inverse distribution. In the last chapter the riffle shuffle is studied and a rather well-known fact is proved that seven or eight shuffles should be enough to shuffle a deck of 52 cards.
The prepartion for accreditation with the intention on the safety at work and the occupational hygiene and the future medical personnel level knowladge in this section
Nejedlá, Zuzana ; Holubová, Václava (advisor) ; Dvořáčková, Ivana (referee) ; Drašnar, Jan (referee)
The topic of my final project is "The prepartion for accreditation with the intention on the safety at work and the occupational hygiene and the future medical personnel level knowladge in this section". This is a theoretical and research project. In my theoretical part I have described the accreditation as a proccess, which is neccesary for quality patient care. I have focused on the changes which our hospital goes through during the preparation of the accreditaion proccess including the claims on safety at work and occupational hygiene. Research part has focused on finding the level of future medical personnel mainly in the safety at work sphere via questionnaire. These students become the part of the medical team during the practical lessons and it is necessary to keep safety work rules and in this way they safe themselves and others. Subsequently, this final project has been concentrated on the concept of the corrective measures during the safety training for students and occupational hygiene.
Stochastic modelling of epidemics
Drašnar, Jan ; Staněk, Jakub (advisor) ; Hlubinka, Daniel (referee)
This thesis uses a simple deterministic model represented by an ordinary di- fferential equation with two equilibrium points - depending on the initial state the illness either vanishes or persists forever. This model is expanded by adding some diffusion coefficients leading to different stochastic differential equations. They are analyzed to show how the choice of diffusion coefficients changes be- havior of the model in proximity of its equilibria and near the boundary of area with biological meaning. The theoretical results are than illustrated by computer simulations. 1
