Doubravová, Barbora ; Bahenský, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Földes, Kristián (referee)
The marter thesis deals with the role of trust in media in resilience. The aim of the thesis is to explore the approach to trust in media by the state and journalists as a factor in countering the issue of disinformation, with potentially co-explanatory differences between the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic in their societal resilience. The thesis utilizes exploratory research of a qualitative nature. The results are primarily extracted through 15 interviews with journalists and national officials, as well as experts from both countries. As the results illustrate, the state and media sector in both countries consider trust in the media as a crucial factor in resilience against disinformation and countering disinformation. Journalists' perspectives on the subject are similar in both countries, while the approaches of national officials are to a certain extent differen. In the Czech Republic, national officials express a stronger criticism regarding the quality of media on the national level, at the same time, a passive approach to building their trust. On the other hand, national officials in Slovakia depict a greater eagerness to contribute to trust in media. However, it is often diminished by a lack of resources or political will. Incidental disputes in enforcement proceedings
Doubravová, Barbora ; Winterová, Alena (advisor) ; Smolík, Petr (referee)
The thesis deals with current legal regulation of incidence contentions, which can occur in the enforcement proceedings. The thesis consists of 3 chapters. The introductory chapter of the thesis deals with the introduction of the basic terminology, historic background, attributes of civil procedure and differences betweenen forcement proceedings and exekutory proceedings. It is essential to bear in mind that for a very purpose of this thesis a term "enforcement proceedings" refers to the civil execution on the one hand, and the enforcement procedure on the other. Among others, folowing disputes have been tackled: disputes about enforcement, exclusive contentions and last, but not least Third-Party Debtor disputes. Disputes which emerge from both types of civil enforcement proceedings are currently not regulated in the Execution Law and must therefore be governed by the rule of Civil Procedure. Principal diferences among certain types of disputes consist in particular in the phase of proceedings in which each dispute shall be addressed. While disputes about enforcement shall be settled in the phase of enforcement proceedings, the others shall then be transfered back in to the phase of adversarial proceedings. Second chapter deals with disputes about enforcement and its characteristics. Third chapter...
Media and Political Power. Comparing the Position of Journalists in Slovakia during the Robert Fico and Vladimír Mečiar Governments
Doubravová, Barbora ; Kubátová, Hana (advisor) ; Franěk, Jakub (referee)
This bachelor thesis analyses the position of journalists during the Robert Fico (ie. in 2006- 2010, 2012-2016 and 2016-2018) governments and compares it with the situation of journalists in Slovakia during the era of "Mečiarism" in the 1990s. The murder of investigative journalist Ján Kuciak and his fiancée in February 2018, which reopened the issue of media freedom and the position of journalists in the country, was the impetus for choosing the topic. The thesis is based on theoretical works dealing with the position of the media in democracy, media freedom and the relationship between the media and politics. Furthermore, it largely focuses on the analysis of relations between journalists and politicians in both periods and draws conclusions on this basis. The aim of my thesis is to find out how the position of journalists under Robert Fico has changed, or on the contrary resembled the situation in the 1990s. The thesis emphasizes the comparison of specific tools and pressures that were used to restrict media freedom in both periods.
