Deportation of the Rumanian Roma during the Regime of Antonescu and its Historical Context

Submitted thesis deals with the deportations of Roma people in Transnistria during the World War II. Whole subject is put into larger historical context. After a brief introduction into history of Roma people and their arrival in Romanian territory, this work is applied to interwar period. A considerable part of this work is devoted to its main subject, the deportations of Roma people in Transnistria. To draw nearer to Czech readers, whole subject is put into necessary context of Romanian history. Supplements contain translations of historical documents and maps for better orientation in subject.

Belief in revenants as a part of the religion of Roma in Bystrany

Revenanti, neboli navracející se zemřelí, jsou neoddělitelnou součástí každodenního života bystranských Romů. Ne náhodou tedy nahrávání o nich začalo hned v počátcích mých cest do Bystran. Vždy mě vyprávění fascinovalo. Zprvu jsem se zajímala o všechny transcendentní jevy vyskytující se v Bystranech. Cíleně jsem se na téma revenanti omezila až v říjnu 2004, kdy jsem strávila týden u jedné rodiny v osadě. Od té doby jsem Bystrany navštívila ještě několikrát 1 , vždy na několik dnů až týdnů. Víru v revenanty jsem se snažila jsem se zachytit synchronně. Moji respondenti se pohybují zhruba ve věku od šesti do šedesáti let a převážně to jsou ženy. S muži jsem natáčela výjimečně, což souvisí s mým pohlavím a přístupem Romů - mužů k ženám. Níže budu popisovat fenomén, který pro své pochopení vyžaduje odpoutání se od neustálého racionalizování si všeho kolem sebe a v neposlední řadě porozumění lidem, kteří si nesou svou proži tou zkušenost s transcendentním jevem, který je pro bystranské Romy každodenní realitou. Cílem zde rozhodně není dokazování či zpochybňování existence nadpřirozených postav - v tomto případě revenantů či světů s nimi spjatých, nýbrž analýza a popis těchto prožitých zkušeností. Chtěla bych zde však zdůraznit, že mé vnímaní zmiňovaného jevu se samozřejmě v mnohém liší od vnímání bystranských...
