in English The Object in Spanish and its Position in the Clause (with Regard to the Czech and Italian Languages) This thesis compares the word order of OV in the initial positions in Spanish, Czech and Italian. It consists of two parts, a theoretical part and a practical part. In the theoretical part, we discuss the object and its functions in the sentence and outline the situation regarding pronominal reduplication of the object. We also focus on the word order in Spanish, to which we relate the word order in Italian and Czech, and deal with the attributive and non-attributive status of the object in these languages. The practical part is devoted to corpus analysis using the parallel Intercorp corpus. The analysis aims to characterize the differences in the use of OV in the initial positions between Spanish, Italian and Czech. Keywords object, duplication, positional variant, word order, corpus, Spanish, Italian, Czech
