Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient after Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction
Collin, Georgina Naomi ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Damborová, Martina (referee)
Title: Case study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient after Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction Thesis Aim: This thesis is divided into two sections, the theoretical section and practical section. In the theoretical section I will explore the anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics of the knee joint, followed by specifics about the Anterior Cruciate ligament. In the practical section I present the case study with the initial examinations, therapy progress and final examinations. Finally, I evaluated the effectiveness of my applied therapy. Method: The rehabilitation plan involved 10 therapies over a 4 week period where I was working alongside my patient with the help and expertise of my supervisor Mgr. Martina Damborova. All treatments and examinations applied are based on the knowledge I have gained in the last 4 years at the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, Charles University. Examinations applied include, but are not limited to, postural and gait examinations, muscle length and strength examinations, active and passive range of motion. Therapies applied include; joint mobilization, post-isometric relaxation, soft tissue techniques and a specialised physical activity program. The specialised activity program involved active movement on both stable and unstable surfaces, TheraBand...
Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient after Arthroscopic Bankart Repair
Bertron Simpson, Desiree Ginger ; Stupková, Michaela (advisor) ; Damborová, Martina (referee)
Author: Désirée Ginger Bertron-Simpson Title: Case Study of Physiotherapy: Treatment of a patient after Arthroscopic Bankart Repair. Objectives: This thesis is divided in two general parts. The first one consists of overviewing the shoulder anatomy, kinesiology, and biomechanics. The patient's diagnosis is also presented, including the underwent surgery. The second part presents the case study, with respective examinations provided, treatments and results after providing all the therapies. Clinical findings: The patient is a 16 years old female rugby athlete, 5 weeks after undergoing an Arthroscopic Bankart repair, performed on the 18th of December 2019 on her right shoulder. Her range of motion is limited in all directions with slight muscle atrophy around her right deltoid area, movement pattern in abduction is altered, constant hypertonicity on the upper trapezius area, bilaterally. Methods: All examination and treatment are based of the knowledge I have acquired in the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education of Charles University, in Prague. These include postural examination, ARoM and PRoM, muscle length and strength test, PIR, joint mobilization, soft tissue techniques, and physical activity programs adapted the patient's need. The goals of the therapies are to control existing range of...
Effect of mechanical correction of hallux valgus deformity
Damborová, Martina ; Maršáková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Říha, Michal (referee)
Title: Effect of mechanical correction of hallux valgus deformity Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis is to investigate the influence of axial correction of hallux valgus deformity on static and dynamic postural stability. Methods: This pilot study involved 8 people ranging in age from 22 to 30 years with mild or moderate degree of hallux valgus deformity. Five probands had hallux valgus deformity bilaterally, three probands had deformity unilaterally on the right leg. Axial correction of position of first MTP joint was made by tape. Postural stability was measured using computerized dynamic posturography EquiTest Smart System from Neurocom before and after intervention. Measured data were processed using Neurocom Balance Manager Software. For the analysis of the data were used statistical methods - paired t-test, Wilcoxon rank test and the rate of clinical significance (Cohen's d). Results: The results indicates that the axial correction of hallux valgus deformity has positive effect on the dynamic postural stability. This impact wasn't demonstrated in static situations. Keywords: hallux valgus, great toe, postural stability, corrective taping, computerized dynamic posturography
Case study of the physiotherapy treatment of a patient after stroke with left hemiparesis
Damborová, Martina ; Novotná, Irena (advisor) ; Křížková, Štěpánka (referee)
Title: Case study of the physiotherapy treatment of a patient after stroke with left hemiparesis. Aims: The aim of this thesis was to gain theoretical knowledge about stroke and the development of case study of a patient after ischemic stroke with left hemiparesis. Summary: This bachelor thesis deals with the stroke. The thesis consists of two parts. In the general section is described the definition of stroke, anatomy of the blood supply of the brain and classification of the stroke. The following chapters solve directly the ischemic stroke, its pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, epidemiology and treatment. The conclusion of this part is devoted to comprehensive rehabilitative care for patients after stroke, including a description of appropriate physiotherapy techniques. The special part is about a case study of the physiotherapy care of the patient after stroke with left hemiparesis. This part contains a complete kinesiology analysis, course of treatment and final evaluation. Data for processing the special part were obtained in the term 5. - 30. 1. 2015 during the clinical practise in Oblastní nemocnici Kladno, a.s. Keywords: Stroke, ischemic stroke, left hemiparesis, physiotherapy procedures and methods.
