Sonatas for violoncello and piano by Johannes Brahms
Veis, Šimon ; Veis, Daniel (advisor) ; Veis, Daniel (advisor) ; Chuchro, Josef (referee) ; Petráš, Miroslav (referee)
Being a cellist, I chose a topic for my thesis Brahms's work for violoncello and piano, that means two sonatas originally comoposed for this instrument and author's own arrangement of the first violin sonata. The introduction describes history of creation of these three composition ( date and place of creation, on whose order or impuls were the sonatas written, who ,where and when performed the sonatas for the first time, etc.) but just briefly, since the main part of my thesis is the analysis of all three compositions. The analysis is devided into three main parts ( three sonatas) , further can be devided between particular movements or parts of the movements ( exposition, development, recapitulation...). The reasons for choosing this topic as a thesis were my deep admiration for Brahms's heritage and a fact that I studied and then performe all three sonatas during my stay at The Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.

Johannes Brahms and his instrumelntal concerts
Nouzovský, Petr ; Petráš, Miroslav (advisor) ; Petráš, Miroslav (advisor) ; Veis, Daniel (referee) ; Chuchro, Josef (referee)
Because of my great admiration for thc composer's music and work as his sonatas for violoncello and piano interested me for its sincere depth and modesty, I have written this work : Johannes Brahms and his instrumental concerts. In my opinion, I consider it to be more attractive to present my point of view in these instrumental pieces because of their importance of the structure and contents. In this work, I try to analyse and outline closer the contents of Brahms's instrumental concerts by comparing two recordings of Brahms's Double Concert for violin, violoncello and orchestra in A minor op. 102.I would like to draw the atention to the fact, that Johannes Brahms is one the best composers of all times and his music even increases when looking on his profound personality.
