Riscs of remote internet voting from the perspective of voting rights

Remote internet voting is a phenomenon of modern democratic societies. This topic has slowly become an important and frequent subject of political research. Thus, the aim of the thesis was to analyse this inovative, but yet controversial, method of voting from the standpoint of voting rights. The first of the thesis is concern on the general theory of elections and legal concept of voting rights to understand the meaning of elements of voting rights. The second part of the thesis comprises three case studies on countries which have already organised the remote internet voting in some types of elections: Estonia, Switzerland and the Netherlands. These chapters have proved several issues and variables between particular e-voting systems, such as the possibility of casting e-votes repeatedly, who is allowed to use internet voting or where votes can be cast on-line. The main goal of the thesis was to provide a clear set of potentional barriers of remote internet voting for an accomplishment of democratic suffrage in cases of these three countries and evaluate the possibilities of the idea of remote internet voting used in the electoral system of the Czech Republic. The Direct Presidential Election in the Czech Republic

This bachelor thesis is focused on the problem of direct presidential election in the Czech Republic. The first part focuses on constitutional changes which are necessary for this to come into effect, including an insight of both the proponents and the opponents from the political and expert spheres. The author attempts to answer the question whether the depicted institutional change can lead to a significant modification of the Czech political system. The goal of the submitted thesis is a treatise about semi- presidentialism. That is a crucial section of the thesis and is based not only on studying the classic political literature (Duverger, Elgie, Sartori, Shugart) but on selected methods of measuring the presidential power as well. The last part of the thesis analyzes the activity of the new president in office during his first year after being elected. The political dimension of social exclusion of elderly people as a result of the digital divide

The diploma thesis deals with the phenomenon of the digital divide and its influence on the quality of life of seniors. The digital divide - a product of the modern information society - is one of the major factors influencing the social exclusion of elderly people. The theoretical part of theses introduces the concept of active aging as a way of successful solving problems associated with the population ageing, as well as a prevention of the exclusion of seniors from both society and participation in public affairs. The author mainly focuses on the issue of how are seniors in the Czech Republic at risk of exclusion as a result of digital exclusion. In the practical part, the present level of digital literacy of Czech seniors is explored. Following qualitative research - semi-structured interviews with experts - aims to find out whether the digital divide represents a social problem for the elderly people in the Czech Republic that contributes to their inequal position among the society, or even causes their exclusion from the participation in governance, and consequently, reduces the quality of their lives.
