This diploma thesis deals with possibilities of designing contemporary buildings in the historical context of the city center. Emphasis is placed on the urban integration of new volumes into the current structure of the city and the place with its genius loci. The result of the design should be houses with a character and clear layout, using high-quality materials, especially with different forms and modifications of the plaster that is typical for the construction industry in Central Europe. The suggestion is the author's answer to the question of a "normal house" in the city center.

The main subject of the thesis is a revision of current area framing northwest part of Žerotín Square, that nowadays consists of so called White house (center for children health care and a seat of a medical school). The design is based on theoretical situation concerning the removal of White house and therefore it uses the newly existing place as a subject for new architectural solution. The solution emphasizes the completion of current block of buildings with large courtyard and corner between Žerotín Square and Veveří street, which is very important for traffic. The thesis is focusing on finding the right form, scale and functional content which would reflect the importance of the location, especially focusing on the Brno’s ring road that goes directly to Denisovy sady and accessibility of this city’s part. It also respects the design of the back side of the Red Church. The design uses the newly existing place as a location for new apartment building that reflects the scale of similar buildings in Marešov and other nearby streets and it also proposes administration building as an architectural solution for this location, which would be used as a seat for both municipal and national institutions.

Diploma thesis deals with the completion of the urban fabric in Brno in the area bounded by streets Cejl, Koliště, Křenová a Vlhká. The location is very close to the historical center of the city , but only for the original walls. This site was created as a suburb outside the walls , which was unlike any other inner city type structures with smaller houses with courtyards and gardens. In the 19th century this area avoid the great industrial boom and there were factories built Jewish industrialists. Also this way since the mid-19th century through the railway . After the war in 1945, factories were combined into complex textile manufacturing Mosilana . Development of this area is very mixed , different mass proportions and functional use and is not as good as it close to the historic cores could be . With the considered plan to move the main train station in the displaced position established in this study . This study proposes the redevelopment and extension of the site . Below we deal with historical context , spatial , functional and traffic analyzes and proposals that I worked for two semesters . The diploma thesis follows the pre-diploma project "Roman Square" from winter semester 2017/2018. The content of the thesis was the analysis of the current state of the square and the determination of conditions for further use of the area. The thesis was not only limited to an analytical statement about the current form of the territory, but it presents a critical view on the legislative and methodological framework of the planning documentation. As a result, the regulatory plan was replaced by the current plan, which became the city plan of the city of Vienna. He works with tools that reflect the paradigms of contemporary urbanism. By using a minimum number of regulations, it sets clear rules for the creation of place and location of objects in relation to the character of the existing building, while maintaining the possibility of individual approach to filling the design areas within the defined rules. The proposed regulatory plan uses these tools to use concepts as defined by Czech legislation, and the functionality of these tools has been tested in a number of mass models during the preparation of the plan. The new city plan, together with the knowledge gained during the preparation of the pre-diploma project, became the basis for the creation of a proposal for the solution of Roman Square and newly placed buildings.
