Development of the child's communication skills from the parents' point of view

The diploma thesis in speech therapy deals with the issue of children's speech development from the parents' point of view. The first chapter is devoted to the theoretical definition of communication itself and explains the difference between language and speech. At the end of the introductory chapter, the communication process is described and verbal and nonverbal communication is also defined. The second chapter of the theoretical part is focused on the development of speech, which is divided into the preparatory period and stages of one's own speech development. The chapter also includes the development of speech from the perspective of language levels, including the factors that affect it. The conclusion of the theoretical part is devoted to speech development disorders. Within the empirically oriented part of the diploma thesis, the main goal was set, the intention of which was to find out whether parents are interested in the development of speech in their offspring and what importance they attach to this issue. In addition to the main goal, a partial goal was set, within which the basic knowledge of the respondents regarding the development of children's language was verified.
