Benda, Lukáš ; Hejl, Jaroslav (referee) ; Klusáček, Ladislav (advisor)
The master’s thesis is focused on a design of reinforced concrete refabricated skeleton of the industrial hall. Object of the design are two internal traverse frames of the hall which consists of reinforced concrete truss, columns, girder and concrete flat foundation. Thesis includes working-out of static calculation, elaboration drawings of shape, reinforcement of solved elements and evolvement of assembly drawings. The rest of the project parts are not analyzed.
Administration Building in Brno
Benda, Lukáš ; Podroužková, Božena (referee) ; Jeneš, Rostislav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is aimed for design of monolithic reinforced concrete slab of residential building, elaboration of shape and drawings of reinforcement of selected structural element. The slab is situated over the first floor. Calculation of internal forces is made by software system SCIA Engineer. Results of internal forces are compared with results of simplified method. Another part of this document is about issues in calculating of locally supported slabs and is done comparison of results by ČSN EN 1992 and ČSN 73 1201. Finally I performed design of concrete double cantilever column.
The Nature of Conflict in the Arctic: A Rationalist Approach to the Conflict Triggers
Benda, Lukáš ; Solovyeva, Anzhelika (advisor) ; Střítecký, Vít (referee)
Lukáš Benda Master's thesis 2023 The Nature of Conflict in the Arctic: A Rationalist Approach to the Conflict Triggers Abstract This Master's thesis explores the triggers of the conflict in the Arctic between the littoral states. Its goal is to identify key conflict drivers, based on the existing literature, then assess their intensity, based on the existing framework and supplemented by this thesis' own definition of conflict. By using the theory of rational choice and the bargaining model of war, it is studied why and how has the Arctic issues not escalated into armed confrontation, a topic which has been prominent in the literature at one time. By applying the aforementioned theories, this thesis links the conflict triggers to an intensity level, while applying the bargaining model of war on a non-violent conflict. The conclusions should determine the intensity of each conflict trigger, while explaining the changes in the conflict, including the external influencing factors. Developing its own definition of conflict and an intensity scale, this thesis aims to fill the gap in the existing literature, which usually focuses on the conflict as a singular topic, while introducing and exploring different layers of the conflict derived from identification of the conflict triggers.

This work deals in detail with preparation, execution and result evaluations of quantitative tests. In chapters concerning test preparation this text describes the right technique of hypothesis formulation and selection of method for their verification. Text continues with description of tools available for conducting quantitative testing. Following chapters contain set of best practices and suggestions for successful testing. In its practical part, the text proves benefits of these methods by results interpretation of two successful tests conducted on a real e-commerce project and corporate website.
