Design of an electronically controllable damper for the recoil of guns
Bajza, Radoslav ; Strecker, Zbyněk (referee) ; Kubík, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with usage of magnetorheologic technologies for damping the recoil of artillery guns. Commonly used passive recoil dampers use complex mechanisms in order to achieve the needed damping force, which negatively impacts their reliability. This problem can be solved by use of a magnetorheologic damper, where the damping force can be controlled electronically. The designed damper is of simple construction with double sided piston rod. The damper fluid is magnetized in a bypass, which is located externally of the damper cylinder. The liquid goes through megnrtisation in parallel grooves, which are located within the bypass. The contribution of this thesis is theoretical exploration of behavior of magnetorheological damper under impact loading of recoil of large caliber artillery. The main outcome of this thesis is the design of a magnetorheologic damper, which is able to function at high velocities and under the load of large forces.
