Street Harassment and Its Reflexion in Czech Mass Media

(in English) This thesis focuses on the phenomenon of street harassment and analyses the ways in which this phenomenon is framed in the Czech media. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to a comprehensive view of street harassment, its definition, its impact on harassed women or theories explaining its origin. I also look at the extent to which street harassment is widespread in the world. I also describe how the media influence the construction and perception of the world and how street harassment is presented in the world media. The main aim of this thesis is to identify media frames related to street harassment in Czech news websites. The media frames were identified using the qualitative frame analysis method, in four news servers selected on the basis of their viewership, credibility and proclaimed ideological neutrality. Thus, I conducted the analysis on the news servers Aktuálně.cz, Seznam zprávy, iDNES.cz and Parlamentní listy. In these monitored servers, I sought answers to the research questions: how and through which frames is street harassment presented in the selected news servers over the monitored period, and are there differences in the framing of this topic between news servers? The portrayal of Police of the Czech Republic in mass media

correspond to the development of citizen's trust in the police in the Czech Republic, lářská práce se zabývá obrazem policie České republiky v českých masmédiích a zároveň souvislostí zpráv z masmédií a vnímáním legitimity policie a důvěry v smédiích zkoumána prostřednictvím Tylerovy koncepce legitimity a definovaných zdrojů legitimity, kterými jsou procesní a distributivní spravedlnost a efektivita, a také prostřednictvím legality činnosti policie. Důvěra byla v základě teoretických poznatků o důvěře v tuto instituci, konkrétně prostřednictvím zapojení občanů a jejich informovanosti, celkového vyznění zpráv a vlastností konkrétních policistů. S použitím kvantitativní obsahové analýzy článků zaměřených na policii ČR publikovaných letech 2010 a 2019 na zpravodajském serveru iDNES.cz, jsem dospěl k těmto poznatkům. roce 2019 informovalo o efektivitě, méně o procesní spravedlnosti a nejméně o distributivní spravedlnosti. Více se informovalo o pozitivních než o negativních aspektech dalšími sledovanými kategoriemi souvisejíc důvěrou, je roce 2019 spíše pozitivní, a to jak u státní, tak u městské roce 2019 o něco pozitivnější, a to zejména kategoriích legality, vlastností policistů, zapojení občanů a pozitivní procesní spravedlnosti.
