Hadoop and Business Intelligence

The main purpose of this thesis is to describe how an integration of a Hadoop platform into currently existing Business Intelligence technologies and processes can augment its data processing and analysis capabilities while encountering Big Data. Furthermore, it describes reasons why the whole Hadoop application ecosystem was founded and informs the reader about the functionality of its primary components. It continues with provision of overview about Hadoop higher-level components architecture and their use in existing Business Intelligence processes such as data ingestion, transformation and analysis. In the last theoretical chapter it focuses itself on describing specific areas of utilization of the Hadoop platform and Big Data in data warehousing, text mining and predictive analytics. From the practical point of view, a particular use case is provided, an implementation of Big Data ETL process in the field of financial markets and trading with a detailed explanation of the corresponding necessities such as data model, ETL code and proposed metrics, which can be further implemented for achieving increased return on investments.
WebSocket and AJAX effectiveness comparison through collaborative editor implementation

This thesis introduces modern web technology WebSocket that was designed to improve real-time communication. Websocket usage is described from both, server and client sides. This thesis should point out benefits of using WebSocket through the collaborative editor implementation. Application ICE, that is practical part of this thesis, shows real-world WebSocket implementation. Also, this thesis lists some of the most widely used techniques for real-time communication. AJAX is currently the most common of these techniques. This thesis should compare WebSocket to AJAX as the competitive technology. Apart from theoretical comparison, this thesis should also provide a real-world testing and comparison.
The use of AJAX technique in interactive collaborative editor

Bachelors thesis gives notice about incapability of today`s CMS systems to deal with simultaneous editing of text content by more users at the same time. By its beginning, thesis is analyzing the problem in depth and seeks its substance. The thesis is not devoted to the problem analysis only it presents the solution too. The solution in this case is collaborative editor. Thesis studies possibilities of its creation and is searching for technologies and techniques that would make it easier. Theoretical part of this thesis explains currently widely popular technique AJAX and benefits it brings that enable existence of collaborative editor as a web application. The thesis defines basic rules that must be followed while creating such an editor. Internal structure and functionality of the application is described by UML diagrams. Practical part of this thesis is the application itself.
