The magazine has undergone since 1990, when it published its first issue, several changes which have shaped its present form. This thesis, however, is going to deal only with dramatic changes magazine experienced in 2007. That time it transformed from newspaper format to full-color magazine format. It changed its graphics significantly. But it also changed the content of the magazine. New sections were added, the editors began to process the new topics that had not appeared in the journal before or had been present in a shorter extent. This paper first describes the magazine as it appeared before the format change in 2007 - the graphic format as well as the content. Then it describes the change of format detaily. It examines the reasons leading to it, describing the circumstances that surrounded it, including the escalation of the situation when almost the entire editorial staff would have liked to leave Respect because of the opposition leadership. It deals with the economic impact of the change. Subsequently, it describes a new form. The conclusion evaluates the shape of news and journalism in magazine Respekt after the change. It describes which defeats and victories it brought.
