Surgical treatment of Brachial plexus birth palsy and possibilities of Physiotherapy

Obstetrical palsy of upper limb results from a perinatal lesion of brachial plexus nervous bunch. The incidence of this disease ranges from 0.42 to 5.1 / 1,000 live births. If the palsy isn't diagnosed early and treated adequately, child will be threatened by major consequences later. This work provides the reader with the current view on the surgical treatment of patients with brachial plexus birth palsy. It gives a comprehensive overview on early neurosurgical intervention and secondary orthopaedic reconstruction. It submits opinions on indicating criteria. It describes the main charakteristic and results of operations. It refers to the fact that the choice of a surgical procedure can be essential in therapy. The aim of this work is also to characterize the fundamental aspects of postoperative physiotherapy, which simultaneously goes along with the process of intervention therapy. The practical part of this work includes a case of a patient after a neurosurgical performance. It describes the preoperative examinations, the performed surgery and the implementation of postoperative rehabilitation.
Basal stimulation - knowledges and experiences of nurses in selected hospitals FN HK

The bachelor thesis deals with the encounters a knowledge and understanding of relation within concept of basal stimulation. It's divided into two parts: theory and the empirical. Within theory, the basic meaning of basal stimulation is explained along with its emergence of concept. Definition of basic and advance elements of concepts and essence of caregiving in concept of basal stimulaiton. Further specifies ICU higher and lower type. Finally, theory is examined which describes current research for practical aspects of intensive care. The Empirical part is focused on qualitative research of ICU internal type FNHK. It covers a knowledge and experience of nurses with basal stimulation, practical use of concept in individual departments, and optional reasons why this concept is not used. Results are compared with research mentioned in other individual departments in intensive medicine in the Czech republic.

Abstract This diploma thesis deals with late preterm birth in relation to the occurrence of motor problems. The theoretical part provides an overview of knowledge about the consequences of prematurity. The work describes the differences of late-preterm infants not only in the neuromotor development, but also considers psychological and pedagogical aspects. The main part of the theoretical information concerns the occurrence of motor disorders, particularly the developmental dyspraxia. The aim of the practical part of the work was to determine whether late-preterm infants have higher incidence of developmental dyspraxia in comparison with term infants. Two groups of children were tested using the standardized test Movement Assessment Battery for Children 2 (MABC-2). The research group consisted of 31 late-preterm infants yet the control group was formed by 73 term infants.
