Changes of Air Transportation in USA after Market Deregulation

This bachelor thesis deals with the air transportation and its growth after deregulation in 1978 as an example of the United States of America. The aim is to determine the impact of deregulation on the development of the US airports and to change their order of number of passengers. Markets of low-cost carriers are addressed in the period immediately after deregulation and after those terroristic attacks of September 11. The thesis includes comparison of air transport models point-to-point and hub-and-spoke. It has been demonstrated that low-cost carriers use point-to-point system while traditional airlines use hub-and-spoke networks with system of hub airports whose creating is also described in thesis.
