Thermodynamic method for assessing hydraulic machine efficiency

The master´s thesis contained basic information about the method of thermodynamic efficiency of hydraulic machines. The first part briefly mentioned our opinion on the most widely used method for determining the efficiency of hydraulic machines. Another section of thesis is characterization and measurement procedure using the thermodynamic method. Another section describes measurements of water plants and laboratory measurements, which took place in the past. The final part describes the results of laboratory measurements, which took place in the lab of VUT FSI Brno, and evaluating and comparing the results.
The fact-finding process in civil proceedings by expert opinion

The dissertation deals with the problem of proving by expert opinion in civil court proceedings. The scientific goal of the thesis is to present a legal analysis of expert evidence in civil court proceedings and inherently related problematic theoretical and application aspects, which relate in different ways both to the persons of the parties and to the experts, and last but not least to the court as an instance a unit which decides the dispute between the parties with the help of an expert opinion. The main working hypothesis of the dissertation thesis is the fact that the valid legal regulation of expert evidence in civil court proceedings is in many respects obsolete and inadequate conditions, which in turn brings to the practice a number of problematic moments, some of which are liable to endanger and the overall interest in a fair decision on the matter itself. The task of a historic passage was primarily to define the questions that continually reappeared over time and whose resolution authors and legal practice approached in different ways at different times. IS audit in financial institutions

Concern of this thesis is a topic of an IT audit on financial institutions. These institutions are subject to severe regulations and considering their purpose -- to provide financial services, it has to be maintained unconditional security of both their information system and data. Therefore, financial institutions belong to the group of the most common customers of IT audit services. Opening part is dedicated to the relationship between financial audit and IT audit. Their history is described until present days. Both local and international contemporary legislation is also described. Then the COBIT methodology is introduced as main methodology concerning IT auditing. Finally, conclusions about relationship between financial audit and IT audit are presented. Following part of this thesis introduce essential requirements on financial institutions controls that are specific for this sector. There are several kinds of assurances and audit is only one of them, so the following part is dedicated to the introduction of each kind with description of their specifics. In the last, practical, part the IT audit checklist for financial institutions is worked out.
Essential tools for developing web applications

This bachelor thesis is devoted to problems of creating web applications using XML files for data storing. The main mission of thesis is to demonstrate XML language usage in these applications and to introduce a reader with another important languages for development of these applications. This thesis is trying to offer a complex view of this problem. Because success of application largely relies on the fact how easily the applacation can be found by potential users of the web, the thesis describes how can be web sites indexed by search engines. There are two main parts of this bachelor thesis: teoretical and practical. The first chapter describes HTML language with accent on his features that can be used for cooperation with web applications. The second chapter is devoted to XML markup language. Third chapter is about Dublin Core metadata standard which can be used with web applications to ease searching of electronical sources. The fourth chapter describes indexing of web pages by search engines and the following fifth chapter describes advanced searching with search engine Google, that can be used for detection if search engine optimization was successfull and if web page is findable. The sixth chapter dedicated to practical part of this thesis. This part describes developed web application programmed in PHP language. This application works with XML file via DOM and SimpleXML interfaces. Interfaces are compared to each other. This chapter also offer some guides describing how to implement some usefull functions in web application.
