Nanotechnology in the intensive care: Intravascular biocompatibility of carbon nanomaterials-effect of carbon nanotubes on blood platelets
Šemberová, Jana ; Straňák, Zbyněk (advisor) ; Dyr, Jan (referee) ; Hubálek Kalbáčová, Marie (referee)
Nanotechnology in the intensive care: Intravascular biocompatibility of carbon nanomaterials - effect of carbon nanotubes on blood platelets. EFFECT OF CARBON NANOTUBES ON BLOOD PLATELETS Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are among the principal materials currently used in biomedical nanotechnologies. CNTs possess superior mechanical and chemical characteristics including enormous tensile strength, elasticity and conductivity. As a result they are very popular and attractive for use in various biomedical applications. Many of these applications may lead ultimately to contact of carbon nanomaterials and blood. Furthermore, CNTs may also be present intravascularly as a result of environmental or occupational exposure. Therefore, the investigation of the intravascular biocompatibility of CNTs is a critical safety issue. We studied the effects of structurally different purified CNT materials from different manufacturers on human platelets and compared their effects to amorphous carbon black nanoparticles (ACB), fullerene C60, fullerenol C60(OH)24 and NIST standard polystyrene nanobeads (PNBs). Using light transmission aggregometry of human platelet rich plasma, we found that various CNTs induce PLT aggregation and this occurs in a concentration dependent manner. In contrast to CNTs, ball-like shaped fullerene...

Vliv ekonomické krize na podnikatelské aktivity společnosti ČSA
Šemberová, Jana ; Machková, Hana (advisor) ; Štěrbová, Ludmila (referee)
The thesis deals with economical and accounting results of the national airline operator of the Czech Republic, Czech Airlines, Inc. (further referred to as CSA), and the global economical crisis effect on airline operators. This crisis hit all sectors of economic activity, including air transport, in the years 2008-2009. The main objective of this thesis is an evaluation of the anti-crisis measures CSA adopted during the last 5 years and its impact on the company's economy, especially on the operating income or operating loss which managed to be 3.7 billion Kc in 2009. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is dedicated to basic characteristics of CSA, specifically its historical development, transport net progress and the current position of CSA on the air transport market. The second chapter talks about the operational and economical situation at CSA and the third chapter explains reclassification activities of CSA and its attempts for recovery.
The position of ČSA on the market of air transport
Šemberová, Jana ; Machková, Hana (advisor) ; Štěrbová, Ludmila (referee)
My bachelor thesis describes the position of ČSA on current market of air transport companies. It defines and reviews the development of this company, the procedure of it's privatization and it indicates the possibilities of future progress. In the first chapter describes history of ČSA, basic informations on air transport in Czech republic and main international institutions in the air transport. The second chapter conserns the informations about business and economic situation of ČSA. The last chapter describes the process of privatization.
Analysis of the effects of pension reform in the Czech Republic
Šemberová, Jana ; Czesaný, Slavoj (advisor) ; Ždímal, Martin (referee)
This dissertation studies the impact and consequences of possible retirement plan reforms on subjects in the Czech Republic. The first part focuses on classification of pension systems and fundamentals of the Czech pension system. Second part summarizes major aspects of the retirement plan reform. Changes in the pension system in the process of ageing of the population are highlighted in this section. Following is the fundamental part of the dissertation that will point out possible consequences of the retirement plan reform for the Czech Republic. The conclusion of the dissertation aims to discuss needs of all parties participating on the retirement plan reform and outline an optimal reform plan. This is the conflict point of the interest of the public and those of the government. However, it is a government's responsibily to act on behalf of the citizens and that is the paramount factor of the reform.
The impact of the demographic trend of population aging to the pensionable system in the Czech Republic and posibilities of reform
Následuje úvod do demografického vývoje věkové struktury. Druhá část práce začíná představením současného důchodového systému ČR, pokračuje analýzou současné a budoucí demografické situace v ČR a poukazuje na změny penzijního systému v procesu stárnutí populace.
