The meaning of salsa in the life of recreational dancers

The aim of the diploma thesis is to map the meanings of salsa in the life of recreational dancers. Pair salsa dance was intentionally chosen as a representative of the so-called social dance group, which is characterized by its unique improvisation and self-expression. The theoretical part will be devoted to key topics focused on salsa dance and improvisation, phenomenon of flow, self-transcendence, expression of emotions, dance movement therapy. In the theoretical part, we were interested in other professional research with similar topics. The empirical part of the diploma thesis deals with the research topic of the importance of salsa for recreational dancers. This research served as an exploratory study of salsa, which is not yet very psychologically explored. It is a qualitative research that uses analytical procedures with elements of grounded theory. Research data were obtained through an in-depth interview with 13 informants. We interpreted the resulting information to understand the mental states and processes on multiple levels in the context of salsa and its importance in the lives of recreational dancers. Effects of dancing in the therapy of addicted patients

This bachelor thesis is focused on the effects of Standart and Latin ballroom dances on self-determination and anxiousness of substance addicted patients at Červený Dvůr Psychiatric hospital. The first theoretical part concentrates on the determination of addiction, the effect of dance on human psyche, anxiousness and crucial conception of self-concept as self-esteem, self-efficacy. Our intent is to describe the potential of using dance as one of the crucial methods during psychotherapy. Also we will introduce a summary of scientific surveys about this topic. The empiric part will be realized with quantitative research, where our object is to find out the levels of selected personality traits thanks to psychological instruments before the first and after the termination of the fourth dance meeting lead by dance masters. At the same time the dancing group of patients will be compared with the control group, which doesn't have any dancing class during their therapy.
Social Functioning of Prostituted Women

Social integration of female prostitute is the topic of this bachelor thesis. There is a lot of definition of prostitution but basically it is providing sexual service for payment. Prostitution is a phenomenon that goes throughout the history. I briefly described the evolution of prostitution in the Czech republic from the past till the present days in the theoretical part of my thesis. Moreover I stated the key terms as a definition of prostitution, an approach to the prostitution, risks, motivation and reason to the prostitution. The results of the qualitative research are presented in the practical part. The main aim of this bachelor is to find out what reasons make women to prostitute and to find out from which social and family background the female prostitutes came from. The quantitative research was chosen considering the specifics of the target group. There are 10 categories of questions in the interview for analyze and answer the research questions. Some of the interviews were recorded on the Dictaphone and then transcribe, the rest of the interviews were recorded in writing. The answers were analyzed according to the grounded theory. What reasons make women to prostitute are interpreted in the practical part. The main reason for providing sexual services is financial distress. The second research question is from what social and family background women came from. The answer for this question was different for most of the correspondents.
