Music Therapy with pre-school children
Čadek, Martin ; Valentová, Lidmila (advisor) ; Doubek, David (referee)
Following study is about music therapy processes within group of preschoolers attending music therapy sessions. The study is directed on group dynamics processes in small group. The main research question is: "Which phenomenons occur in group dynamic process of group integrity and group de-integrity?" these concepts of deintegrity and integrity are linked theoretically with concept of cohesion and tension. The concept of cohesion and tension leads the group into two group states. The first one can be characterized as "cohesiveness" and the following is characterized as "moving apart". The results of study outline what kinds of factors can be found for cohesion and tension for small group of preschoolers in music therapy sessions.
Operadic resolutions of diagrams
Doubek, Martin ; Markl, Martin (advisor) ; Somberg, Petr (referee) ; Čadek, Martin (referee)
of the Doctoral Thesis Operadic Resolutions of Diagrams by Martin Doubek We study resolutions of the operad AC describing diagrams of a given shape C in the category of algebras of a given type A. We prove the conjecture by Markl on constructing the resolution out of resolutions of A and C, at least in a certain restricted setting. For associative algebras, we make explicit the cohomology theory for the diagrams and recover Gerstenhaber-Schack diagram cohomology. In general, we show that the operadic cohomology is Ext in the category of operadic modules. 1
The impact of body shape on the patient-practitioner relationship
Čadek, Martin ; Flint, Stuart (advisor) ; Hrachovinová, Tamara (referee)
The study involves an experimental procedure which addresses the influence of body shape (i.e. obesity), on contact between the doctor and patient. The theoretical part includes studying and describing the current literature relevant to the topic, defining concepts of obesity, prejudice, and weight stigma. The theory concludes with a critical reflection of the current level of knowledge. For the experimental part, participants are randomly assigned across several experimental conditions, which consist of video views an expert advice from the doctor. Conditions vary gender and weight physician, as well as the content of the information the doctor gives to the potential patient. The main research aims are to provide an evidence on how is the weight stigma influenced by various factors, especially gender of HCPs, the information they are providing, their weight status, and other relevant sociodemographic characteristics on the side of a participant. Data are analysed with multivariate analysis of covariance and analysis of covariance. The study results are consistent with previous findings in literature. Keywords: Weight stigma, obesity, prejudice, discrimination
