Native hyaluronan as a delivery system for hydrophobic drugs
Černá, Eva ; Mravec, Filip (referee) ; Pekař, Miloslav (advisor)
The aim of this paper is to discover whether it is possible to use the native form of hyaluronic acid as a hydrophobic drug carrier for a targeted distribution in the body. In its structure, hyaluronic acid is a linear high molecular weight biopolysaccharide which is found in most living organisms. Hyaluronan is involved in many physiological processes and therefore is essential for the functionality of the human body. It is in most tissues of the human body, high concentration is in the skin, the vitreous body and is also observed in cancer cells that contain several receptors for hyaluronan. These receptors include CD44 and RHAMM. The interaction of the hyaluronic acid delivery system and the hydrophobic medicinal with these receptors could ensure a free passage for drugs to the affected tissue, where the release of the drug would destroy the affected cells. The drug would directly target the damaged tissue and did not burden the rest of the body like the cytotoxic agents do. In this paper the native form of hyaluronic acid, which we normally find in the human organism, was chosen as the carrier. Its properties do not stand above other carrier systems, but its biocompatibility and biodegradability in the body greatly exceed them. High molecular weight hyaluronic acid was used as a carrier and the hydrophobic dye sudan red G, a substance of similar properties, was used instead of a hydrophobic drug.
Verification of the composition of the concrete durability of cement-concrete covers
Černá, Eva ; Ťažký, Tomáš (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
Alcali – silica reaction often causes destruction of a concrete.constructions. In the theoretical part is described creation and causes of the ASR including assessment of individual components of concrete and their testing. The practical part is devoted to the results of some control tests of the concrete cover in the section 18 of the highway D1 (Měřín - Velké Meziříčí) and section D1-20 (Velké Meziříčí - Lhotka), the mechanical properties of the upper and the lower layer of the concrete cover and measuring the resistance of concrete against chemical deicing agents.
Porous hydrogels from natural gum modified with bio-active substances for accelerated wound healing
Připravené filmy byly testování z hlediska botnání, hydrolitické stability, transparentnosti, pevnost v tahu v suchém i mokrém stavu, chemické složení a morfologie. Druhý krok zahrnoval integraci bioaktivního antiseptika do struktury hydrogelu, který zajišťuje vhodné antimikrobiální podmínky pro hojení ran. Připravené transparentní, hydrolyticky stabilní filmy se ukázaly být efektivní proti oběma testovaným druhům bakteriálních kmenů, gram-pozitivním i gram-negativním, mezi které patřily: Staphylococcus aureus methicillin-senzitivní, Staphylococcus aureus methicillin-rezistentní, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter cloacae, Enterococcus faecalis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida albicans and Escherichia coli. Následná práce bude zaměřena na testování in vitro a in vivo testy biocompatibility.

Contribution of archaeology to the understanding of history related to the North-West region of Middle Danube (Possible interpretations of glass-beads findings beginning from the 7th up to the 10th century) Abstract The presented work, as to the type of findings (glass beads) and geographical scope has not yet been discussed in scientific literature. The analysis required a tailor made, new classification system of glass beads, as well as the modification of the existing relative-chronological periodization of early Middle Ages. The list of skeleton grave findings and places of beads was critically discussed (977 sites, 36 851 skeleton graves). More than 25370 beads were analyzed in an interdisciplinary way. Chemical analyses were implemented with three methods on selected types of glass. The results provide a link between the types of beads and their production technologies in relatively-chronological horizons of early Middle Ages. The styles of necklaces and their cultural interdependencies were identified. The results answer and clarify the question regarding cultural relationships between the Avarian Khanate, the Carolingian, Great Moravian and late Moravian cultures in the North-West region of Middle Danube and their contacts with other cultures outside this region. . Key-words: early middle ages,...
Evolution of the Vampire Character in Popular Culture - From the Beast to the Idol
ČERNÁ, Eva
The theme of the bachelor's thesis is an analysis of the evolution and transformation of the vampire character, from beast to idol in popular culture, in response to the cultural - historical development of society. Vampire monster is characterised at work based on Bram Stoker's novel. The analysis of idol is based on books and film adaptations of Stephanie Meyer's works - The Twilight Saga and L.J. Smith - Vampire Diaries.
Glassmaking and landscape. A contribution to the research on postmedieval glassmaking in Českomoravská vrchovina on the example of the deserted glassworks in Milovy (Žďár nad Sázavou)
Kozáková, Jana ; Klápště, Jan (advisor) ; Černá, Eva (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to summarize historical development of glassmaking in Bohemia and Moravia since the end of the eighteenth century until the beginning of the First World War and it contains detailed interpretation of microrelief of the deserted post medieval glassworks in Milovy (District of Žďár nad Sázavou). The thesis is focused on changes of technology of production and refining of glass, effects of glassmaking on land ecology and social development in pursued period. Geodetic-topographical plan of the deserted site, which served as main source material for functional interpretation of microrelief of the deserted glassworks in Milovy, is the inseparable part of the thesis.
