Policy-Based Flexible Spectrum Usage for Next-Generation Mobile Communication Networks
Musil, Tomáš ; Polívka, Michal (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
This Master's thesis deals with proposal of Flexible Spectrum Usage (FSU) algorithm based on policy agreed among operators. The introduction presents basic information about properties of next generation mobile communication ITM-Advanced system. After the introductory part the attention is given to the items efficient for FSU implementation as well as parameters used for evaluation of FSU algorithm efficiency. Several variants policy based FSU algorithm utilize value of Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio (SINR) is designed. The SINR information is used to combat with mutual interference which is caused by coexistence of several operators in the same geographical area sharing over the same spectrum pool. Individual needed as traffic and quality of service requirements of each operator is taken into consideration as well. The main aim is to maximize cell troughput as well as data- rates for each user of HBS. For simulation of proposal algorithm is considered deployment of four Currently Home Base Stations (HBS) in indoor loacal area scenerio with random number of users in given range. Each operator makes independent dicision without signalling exchange among other. The only considered information that HBS can use is gotten by scenning its environment. This problem soliving is considered to use Cognitive Radio (CR)

Design of Communication system among Moving Vehicles
Klampár, Marián ; Polívka, Michal (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
The purpose of this thesis is to show up possibilities of inter-vehicle communication and to introduce new approaches in communication for the purpose of enhancing the security and the fluency of vehicle transportation. This thesis also highlights vulnerabilities in communication. The main goal is the analysis of existing technology and the design of protocol for data transfer with focus on minimizing handover time of informations. Part of the design is a simulation of communication based on acquired information.
Implementation of multi-purpose system based on LINUX
Fůsek, Lukáš ; Polívka, Michal (referee) ; Pfeifer, Václav (advisor)
The thesis Realization of Multipurpose System on the base of Linux is focused on the selection of suitable distribution of GNU/Linux system for all commonly accessible network services provided by servers and for implementation of suitable authorization process for one server. The first part of the Bachelor thesis acquaints the reader with different operating systems, and their mutual comparison. There are also in detail examined open-source technologies used for HTTP, FTP or mail server services. Further the first part describes the way of sharing data and printers in the network and a possibility of log in the Network by means of Novell client. Second part is focused on practical realization of this server by selected system and by needed applications. There is also in detail described the process of instalation and launching all needed applications.
Effective usage of telecommunication education environment
Buchta, Marek ; Polívka, Michal (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
The topic of this bachelor´s thesis was effective usage of telecommunication‘s educational interface. The main aim of my thesis was to teach software and hardware versions of telecommunication‘s educational environment TIMS from Emona Instruments company. Also the goal of this paper was to design effective usage of educational environment in laboratories in the subject called Access and transport nets. There was a selection of three exercises suitable for these laboratories. These exercises were designed and implemented. Each of these exercises contains extensive theoretical introduction to solve problems, exercise assignment, block diagrams for visual understanding and for insight into measurement and detailed instructions to measurements. After all exercises have been completed exemplary protocols were created. The first exercise carried out was PCM coding and encoding in which students would be introduced with pulse code modulation, its advantages and disadvantages in way of acquiring high-quality broadcast. Second exercise was to focus on the introduction of quadrature amplitude modulation and phase shift keying. Target of the last exercise is to introduce students with binary data transmission via voiceband and factors affecting this transmission.
Uncovering of rootkits and detection of spyware
Juras, Stanislav ; Pelka, Tomáš (referee) ; Polívka, Michal (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis is about uncovering of rootkit and detection of spyware. It describes the basic types of known spyware and rootkits. Section dealing with spyware is especially about a description of each species. In case of rootkit the thesis is mainly about description of modes and the manner of their infection. There are also outlined attempts to use legal rootkit. In other case there are summarized the basic methods of rootkit and spyware detection, which are commonly used in various detection programs. The second part of thesis is practical implementation (the program) of one of the methods of spyware detection. The program is designed to be able to detect a simple pattern of spyware, which is stored in its database. The program uses the file signature detection. It contains also the graphical user interface, where is possible to choose a unit that user want to test.
Attacks on active network elements
Ščepko, Richard ; Kacálek, Jan (referee) ; Polívka, Michal (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of the security of computer networks. The tasks of the bachelor thesis are the attacks on active network elements with the aim of the catching of data between two users. In the created structure with a stellate topology, the user stations have connect to the active element (switch). In the thesis, the individual ways of attacks and the significance of ARP proceedings to MAC addresses have describ. Several programmes have use in order to take control over the device. Due to a big amount of these active elements the source code of the programmes had to be alter. The work with the programmes ARPtool and ARPoison demanded the operational system Linux, in our case the distribution of Ubunt. The programme WinArpAttacker could be set off under the system Windows XP as well. The achieved results and the description of the practical part are discuss in detail in the summary of the thesis. The result is the catching communication with the help of the programme WireShark.
Optimisation of a Voice Transmission in Communication Networks
Novák, David ; Polívka, Michal (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals abou the transmission of voice in communications networks. The theoretical part describes criteria for optimizing voice, such as quality of service, type of service, level of service, service type, and mean opinion score. Next I describe the Internet Protocol, comparing IPv4 and IPv6, VoIP, including security, protocols and parameters necessary for transmission. Other part is about neural networks. There are basically described the neural network, Hopfield neural network and Kohenen neural network. The research is based on a comparison of the network without ensuring the quality of service and with ensuring quality of service. Then, there are compared two types of switches. Classical switch-controlled sequentially, and switch controlled by neural networks. The overall simulation program is implemented in Opnet Modeler. The conclusion deals with the creation of laboratory tasks in this program to compare the different systems of ensuring quality of service.
Configuration management for Cisco backbone network
Bartoš, Jan ; Pelka, Tomáš (referee) ; Polívka, Michal (advisor)
The main aim of the master thesis was to create an application for backbone network configuration management. The priority of the application was to be effective and easy to take. Program has to be able to communicate with network devices by remote control and to download and upload configuration files. The program has enable also availability verification for remote control. For this purpose the ICMP protocol was used. The remote control is provided by telnet protocol and the protocol TFTP has been chosen for file tranfers providing. The application is a multithreading application based on the Java programming language. The Java graphic library Swing was used for GUI creation. The application supports file versioning, the configuration of the program can be saved as a text file, which can be easy changed by user. The program and its features are described in the second part of this thesis. The first part deals with theoretical facts about the IP networks and remote control of the Cisco backbone network devices.
