Manageriness as Mothers. Life Stories that leads to Interruption of Social Concessions

In this short qualitative study, which is called "MANAGERINESS AS MOTHERS. LIFE STORIES THAT LEADS TO INTERRUPTION OF SOCIAL CONCESSIONS…", author is dealing with the issue of combining family and working life in lives of Czech women in managerial positions. Eight communication partners that participated in this study show us with their life story, that even mothers can by professionally successful. In an analysis of interviews, subject such as planned motherhood, changes in lifestyle after the birth of a child, instruments that helps to harmonize family and working life, home care or the importance of education and money in lives of these women, are shown. At the end of the study the author comes to conclusion that their success costs not only on their determination and help from surrounding, but also on their financial possibilities, that their positions brings to them.
Beauty from the Perspective of Plastic Surgery

Social conditions under which cosmetic surgery are carried out in such quantity and popularity are defined and explored. Paper also contains a summary of patients' opinions about cosmetic surgery and explains the way they think of the role of beauty in their lives. The attention is focused on motives by which are patients of cosmetic surgery led to undergone such intervetion to human body as the cosmetic surgery. Paper aims to propose a rational explanation of what leads them to a cosmetic surgery even though there is a high risk of health damage and an unclear result. The first part deals with the new economy, consumerism and celebrity culture as the main factors, claimed by the literature, that influence decisions about undergoing cosmetic surgery. Normative function of beauty in modern everyday life is also scrutinized. Principles of fun in Collectible Card Games and their Influence on the Players Life

The bachelor thesis Principles of fun in collectible card games and their influence on the players life is about a hobby game discipline called Collectible Card Games or Trading Card Games. Basic rules of collectible card games are described in the introduction. Theoretical block describes game in a different way, than people usually thought about it. Important part of thesis is empirical research which conducted in March 2014. This research was performed using the method called interview with manual which belongs under the qualitative methods. Research is focused on long- term Magic the Gathering players and took place in Prague game centre. Results of this research are divided to two major sections. First section is Fun and collectible card games and second section is Influence of community on player's life. First section is focusing on what is fun about gaming, why competition is important, factor of luck in games and what having a collection means for them. Second section is about relationship between the players, formation and maintenance of community and also about traveling and friendship. Whole research procedure is summarized in conclusion. Also, there are several ideas arising from the answers of the interviewed informants.

Gender blending and queer performativity in the music videos of Lady Gaga

This bachelor thesis examines how queer performativity and gender blending are shown in the music video clips of Lady Gaga. The thesis attemp to find and analyse through the means of the semiotic analysis and explain their meaning. The thesis is based on theoretical gender definition and on two constructivism concepts: Doing gender by West and Zimermann and gender performativity by Judith Butler. The thesis employs the queer concept as the reconstruction of sexual minorities but also as an analytic lens that deconstructs the normative social structure. The author defines the various elements leading to gender blending and queer performativity in four music videos clips and concluded that Lady Gaga repeatedly violates gender stereotypes and disturbs the majority view on heteronormative social settings by using specific videos elements representing different kinds of sexuality in her music videos.
The Benefits of Playing Collectible Card Games for Player's Life

Important part of thesis is empirical research which conducted in March 2014. This research was performed using the method called interview with manual which belongs under the qualitative methods. These benefits are divided into benefits which brings the game and benefits which brings the membership in players community. Whole research procedure is summarized in conclusion. Gay clubs in Prague

Gay clubs and their role within gay community have been chosen as the topic of this graduation thesis. Work gives the definition of terms "gay" and "gay club" as well as the survey of society's attitude to the gay minority, both nowadays and in historic perspective. This information is followed by chapters dealing with history and presence of Prague's gay clubs, their functions within gay community a society's view on it. Practical part brings half- structured interviews with gays and seeks consensus that helped to set current functions of gay clubs, further to determinate factors influencing choice of the particular club and difference between a gay clubs and a regular night clubs. Furthermore, observations in two chosen Prague's gay clubs have been conducted by the author as part of this research. When interviewing she also touched the darkroom issue, that is partly mentioned in her observation study. There have been quite significant changes happening nowadays comparing to the historic gay club's functions. The only historic factor that managed to stay within currents ones is the sense of security, that gays feel in gay clubs comparing to regular night clubs in which they can't fully manifest themselves. Imaginations of catholic and non-believing girls about intimacy and its meaning in longterm relationships; case study of girls from Český Krumlov

My bachelor's thesis is focused on qualitative research of attitude to forms of relationships of believing and non-believing girls. The text is an attempt to determine the meaning of intimacy for these two groups and the difference between them. In the part regarding theoretical bases is the accent put on introducing the problems of intimacy, love and sexuality in their conceptual frame and further are described some aspects of relationships between Catholics and non-believing part of contemporary Czech society. This part has an explanatory trait. The fundamental of my research is a hypothesis that with an assistance of questions, regarding ideas of both groups, I can determine how they see the meaning of intimacy and in what ways their approach differs. In analytic part is my work divided into several areas regarding components of my research - relationship, partner, family, physical relationship and reflexion of relationship between group of believing and non-believing girls. The difference of meaning of intimacy is defined on the basis of the first four categories. The fifth category stands independently and shows the image of the main problems that non-believing girls have with the catholic girls.
Love through the Eyes of Seniors: A Qualitative Analysis of Partners Love in Senior Marriage

Bachelor thesis deals with the theme of the partner love in the elderly. The theoretical part summarizes the current knowledge about love. It decribes the transformation of love and intimacy that occurs in modern society. Currently, the importance of love in a relationship is visibly increasing. Love now allows functioning of the relationship but it also contributes to instability. It also describes some typologies of love, in detail from Hatfield et al., who divide a love for two basic types; passionate (romantic) love and companionate love. It points to the fact that during the marriage the form of love changes. According to the traditional model of understanding love, romantic love is transformed into companionate love. However, romantic love can maintain into old age and contribute to the satisfaction of the elderly. The theoretical part also deals with old age and aging. Nowadays, population gets older and the elderly represent an increasingly important population group. At the end of the theoretical part are presented the selected myths and stereotypes about elderly.
