In these days we can see an advertisement everywhere we look around. We can easily say that it plays a very strong rule in this world, sometimes is stronger then human being. Why? Advertisement is just manipulate with us, its trying to change a typoval image of woman in lifestyle magazines for women. Effect to my graduation theses will be discover how much we can apply a critical theory of massmedia to analysys of advertisement. I will show that in magazine Harper's Bazaar, which is a women's monthly magazine and advertisements there are very similar to any other womens lifestyle magazines. The main advertisement function is not only to give an information but change the object motivation. There is only one main aim - buy the product, nothing else. How is the process happening? I will try to show that on some philosophers ideas like Flusser, Baudrillad, McQuil or McLuhan. My graduation theses has got two basic parts. Philosophy part, which contains philosophy analysis in media and advertisement effect, specially on women, which is very strong. In my practikal part I will try to analyse some of the advertisements in magazine Harper's Bazaar.

Diploma work 'Content analysis of football agents' web pages' deals with comparison of different web pages of football player's agents. It is based on semiotics analysis along with qualitative content analysis. Results of this research shows which monitored signs fits to which category. There are six different categories and two groups of total nine agencies, on which analysis was made. Companies from first group represent less than fifty football players, companies from the other group represent fifty players and more. There are three different hypotheses in this diploma work. First hypothesis was confirmed because bigger companies showed at their web pages more signs which associate the effect of fruitfullness. Also the second hypothesis was confirmed because there is not any agency which does not use at least one sign of exceptionality. At last, also third hypothesis was confirmed. There were monitored more signs of modesty at smaller companies than at bigger ones indeed.

Sklenářová, Zuzana ; Brejcha, Jan (advisor) ; Svoboda, Aleš (referee)
The following diploma work come from the discipline of semiotics. Classic semiotics is depicted here only marginally. It concentrates more on its specific sphere, which is named product semantics. This is such a field of semiotics, which deals with the meaning of products. At first, we must provide an overview about everything that product semantics includes and in which relation it is to design and graphics. This is described in theoretical part, in which it is mostly extracted from texts in English, because my topic is in Czech language sphere new. In the case of this work web pages are comprehended as products. We deal here thus with an analysis of web pages from the product semantics perspectives. For this purpose I have chosen three web pages, which I have studied from the perspective of classic semiotics, from the perspective of web semiotics, from the perspective of usability and from the perspective of consistence. After this I answer the questions given in the text and I show the mistakes web pages do. At the end I answer on the basis of evaluation of consistence whether the hypothesis of this work is truthful or mistaken.

Invisble Worlds of Francisco Löpez
Frinta, Petr ; Dvořák, Tomáš (advisor) ; Brejcha, Jan (referee)
Invisible Worlds of Francisco López (abstract) This essay deals with both the theoretical and musical work of Spanish musique concrète theorist and composer Francisco López, who is considered among the most renowned artists within temporary electronic music. Absolute musique concrète, his notion of sound phenomena, develops the ideas already presented in two different historical musical genres. The idea of using the prerecorded environmental sounds from musique concrète is here related to the ideals of absolute music, the one devoid of any non-musical references. Everything in López' music is following the concept. His albums are being released without booklets or information sheets; additional information on recording is reduced to a minimum. His live appearances are held in total darkness; his compositions are no more than layers of hiss and rumble. One could hear these were made of processed environmental recordings, yet both their origin and the technique they were treated remain undetectable. In different ways López' work can be related to the late 20th century philosophy. His theoretical essays could be understood as an attempt to avoid further compositional, formal or ideological limitations through theoretical discourse. His musical creations could be perceived as an example of phenomenological...
Vector editors and design of user interface for Inkscape
Válka, Vítězslav ; Svoboda, Aleš (advisor) ; Brejcha, Jan (referee)
Diploma work, focused on user interface of Inkscape computer software is divided into several analytic parts. It is mapping the social part for this kind of software. Describing how it involves people who work with that application. At the end of the work I applied the theory and my own praxis from this field to introduce new design of the Inkscape application. I applied mainly what I have learned during those years of study and surly experience gained by designing information systems and websites. First part introduces current trends and changes in user interface evolution. Involved mainly by internet and its never ending force which takes it to much more people and into more types of electronic equipment. All that influences the social perception of the computer and its software interface. It describes possible threads and opportunities for the future. To summarize that, the work takes its readers into the field and defines the borders of space which is forming our scope while designing UI. In the closing part there is a maximum of information, I gained during the study, applied into final solution - which is ideal user interface of Inkscape software. Usage and application of these theoretical thoughts onto testing model is made by using symbols common for this software field according to the theory.
