Supported Employment as an Instrument of Social Inclusion

The aim of my bachelor thesis ,,Supported Employment as an Instrument of Social Inclusion" is analyzing the service for people who want to search and keep a paid job in the open labour market. The target group of the service needs a professional support to find a job because of their disability or their social situation. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with principles, establishment and representation of the service Supported Employment in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the thesis also deals with issues of disability, mechanisms of integration into society, the right to work and be employed, issues of unemployment and tools of active labour market policy. The practical part is based on results by the author. The situation of people who use the service of Supported Employment and people who do not have experience with this service is compared.
Social Entrepreneurship as an Opportunity for the Employment of Older People on the Labor Market

(in English) The aim of this master's thesis is to find out possibilities of elderly people employment in social businesses in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part describes a social entrepreneurship, defines it and gives its legal frame and examples of such businesses in Europe and in the Czech Republic. The elderly are defined according to their characteristics and also according to the possible link to long term unemployment. The empirical part of the thesis focuses on the overall situation of the elderly in social businesses and on factors possibly affecting their employment in this kind of businesses. It was found out in the research that the selected target group is one of those most at risk on the labour market. At the same time, this group is one of the least supported and monitored not only in the social businesses. However, persons 50+ may become a significant group on the labour market in the future. The final part of this thesis stresses out that it is vital to change our point of view on this target group and their support on the field of active labour market policy, but, above all, to make use of the opportunity to employ these people in social entrepreneurship. The Life's Alteration Seniors Causes of Transition to Home for Elderly People

This thesis is devoted to the elderly and the changes in their lives. The theoretical part deals with the issue of social problems in old age. Briefly describes the age, physical and psychological changes, focusing on changes in social inclusion and the changes in relation to children and grandchildren and also outlined here adaptation. In the research part I through interviews with seniors who are clients of the residence facilities senior home to find out what preceded their decision to enter a home for the elderly. Also, both accept this change and if ever. What aspects of this transition, the hardest for them or, conversely, what they are in this transition most helpful.
Supply and the importance of self-groups in the Czech Republic with a focus on Prague

Self-help groups are an interesting phenomenon and they could serve as a significant complement to the social services. Nevertheless they don't attract much attention in the Czech republic. In the theoretical part this thesis is trying to describe in detail how the self-help groups work, how they can complement social services and what are their risks and limitations. In the practical part a research was conducted in order to understand and map the situation of Czech self-help groups. This research was based on the internet search engine and registry of social services providers. The goal of the research was to map the self-help groups in the Czech republic in relation to geographical and typological allocation. The outcome of the research is a directory of active self-help groups that should serve both social workers and potencial clients of the self-help groups.

Models of public family support by cash benefits. Comparative study of models in the Czech Republic, Finland and United Kingdom This thesis is a comparative study of different models of welfare available for the family unit in the Czech Republic, Finland and in the United Kingdom. It considers many different aspects, and in the first two chapters looks at what characterizes a family, the social strcutures that influenced the formation of the family unit, and existing European principles which formed the basis upon which family assistance was modeled. These principles are divided into solidarity, citizenship, corporate, and liberal. The ensuing chapters discuss family politics within the individual states. Chapters are divided into parts such as historic, present and organization of public family policy. Public welfare in the Czech Republic focuses on low-income households and distributing income assistance from public funds. In Finland family welfare is focused mainly on ensuring the healthy development development of children, which is made possible through financial assistance, family leave and programs offering help for families. Ensuring Access to Basic Health Care for Children and Young People from Socially Disadvantaged Backgrounds

(in English): The thesis deals with the current state of the functioning of the health care system for children and youth in the Czech Republic with regard to the possible consequences of failure to provide basic health care resulting from difficult life situations, and therefore closely related to the social sphere. The main objective is to explore whether the current system is functional enough that there are no socially disadvantaged individuals "falling through a net". The theoretical part deals with the lives of socially disadvantaged individuals, with a focus on the family and its specifics. Furthermore the work deals with pediatric and dental preventive and curative health care. In addition to discussing basic parameters of the care, there are analyzed the risks for the eventual malpractice. Solution of the research uses a qualitative method using interviews with instructions. Not only was the research sample composed of individuals with experience with social disadvantage - particularly parents with children from shelter homes where one can assume such experience, but also practicing doctors who come into the very first contact with children the most often - pediatricians and dentists so that the view on the situation is as complex as possible.

Title: The Principles of Funding of the Public and Voluntary Formalised Solidarity in the Social Care Services in the Czech Republic Abstract: The social care services are a specific system within the social protection system. Opposed to the public benefit systems they allow the coexistence of public and voluntary solidarity. There are many welfare state models and systems of cooperation of the public and NGOs in Europe. These models offer differently formed relationships of their entities. This thesis raises the question of finding a more convenient organisation of the whole system of the social care services in the Czech Republic where the problem is currently being discussed The objective of the thesis is to find possibilities of public and voluntary solidarity in the social care services settings and to suggest ways for their cooperation. The research is mainly based on qualitative methods. Firstly, the causal links of statistical nature from the fields of demography, social relations and economics are introduced. In the next step a combination of methods of in depth interviews and expert discussions is used. They focus on public solidarity and regulation in the system. Socio-political analysis of the causes of indebtedness if citizens

Rigorózní práce Socio-political analysis of the causes of indebtedness of citizens OVERVIEW The thesis "Socio-political analysis of the causes of indebtedness of citizens" consists of a detailed analysis of issues leading up to over-indebtedness. It also aims to point out the most serious consequences of over-indebtedness. The thesis brings attention to the relation between causes and effects which, in many cases, take the form of the opposite and vice versa. The boundary between cause and effect can often be indistinct, and it is essential to distinguish between the two in order to find a solution for an over-indebted client. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the issue of a loss of income which may lead to over-indebtedness, draws attention to the important role of education in the area of financial literacy, and notes on the most serious consequences of over-indebtedness, which it sees in the loss of housing, homelessness, and other negative effects. The research part concentrates on a social group which belongs to one of the most threatened with social exclusion, welfare applicants. The research attempts to analyse their debt situation in relation to their age, education, housing, unemployment period, willingness to change their situation, and willingness to repay their debt.
Future Careers of Long-term Carers Looking After Disabled Relatives: Assistance of the Czech Government

Subject of this bachelor thesis is social status of parents who long-term care of their mentally disabled children. This sort of handicap requires and assumes permanent and regular care that is very difficult to combine with an employment. That usually leads to resignation on their professional career. When the child has grown-up and he/she can become by involvement professional social services gradually and naturally more self-dependent, it is very difficult for carers to find appropriate job. They may be socially trapped through governmental care allowance, because it prevents them from combination of their own care with professional social services. Aim of this thesis is identify needs of carers necessary for their re-employment and to propose legislative changes that would support them in their efforts. Proposal of a system of further education of social workers in direct contact with seniors in the houses of seniors

This thesis deals with the issue of the further education of social workers who work in homes for the elderly in direct care with this target group. The aim of the work which is based on the results arising from the interviews and questionnaire is to design the content of further training for this specific group of social workers so that their real needs would be accepted. The work is divided into the theoretical and practical part. The content of the theoretical part is familiarising with the most commonly used theories in social work with the elderly in the facilities of social services, marginally, it is describing the social service system for the elderly in the Czech Republic, including the role of social workers in it and the importance of the training of social workers. The practical part presents the methods and results of the data analysis, research and the design of the content of continuing education of social workers.
