Manifestation of flood in June 2013, Upper Lužnice River
Jaček, Matouš ; Šobr, Miroslav (advisor) ; Havlíková, Petra (referee)
This thesis is about progression of chosen fluvial lakes in the upper basin of the river Lužnice. Observed changes were mainly caused by flood in spring 2013. This area is located by national border with Austria. This part of the river is very preserve and almost without human modifications. The Lužnice river is floating throw floodplain creating meanders and also many fluvial lakes. This area is very useful for research in flooding and changes they cause. First part of this thesis is focused on work with literature about fluvial lakes, their changes and characteristic, about floods and their effect on landscape and about the river Lužnice itself. The second part is about measuring and evaluating changes on four fluvial lakes. These lakes were mapped and measured and those measuring were compared to the measuring made before flood in June 2013.
Development of fluvial lakes in the Lužnice River floodplain
Hastíková, Petra ; Šobr, Miroslav (advisor) ; Havlíková, Petra (referee)
The object of the thesis is to evaluate the development of several chosen fluvial lakes in the basin of the river Lužnice, mainly in the section between the border with Austria and Suchdol nad Lužnicí. The river Lužnice in this particular section represents low intensity of modification. Many fluvial lakes are situated there and the river is meandering remarkably in the area. The first part of the thesis deals with the characteristics of the natural conditions in the basin of Lužnice and the defined floodplain and the problematics of lakes and their determination. The main part of the thesis focuses on the evaluation of the flow development and fluvial lakes of the Lužnice floodplain based on the data of a aerosnapshoting. Because of the gradual decease of the meanders and straightening of the flows, it is possible to claim that the river has been considerably shortened with the passing time. In the thesis, 34 chosen fluvial lakes, that were measured morphometrically and batymetrically, were studied in detail.
Impacts of hydrological extremes on surface water quality in headwater areas. Application in the model study area of the upper Rolava catchment.
Šajnarová, Lucie ; Matoušková, Milada (advisor) ; Havlíková, Petra (referee)
Precipitation-runoff extremes in the source areas have a significant effect on changes in the geochemism of surface waters, which also affect peatlands in the basin. The main goals of this theses include research literature on the topic of changes in the geochemism of surface waters in spring areas with peat bogs in the basin in response to precipitation-runoff extremes. Furthermore, an analysis of runoff and precipitation conditions in the hydrological years 2018, 2019 and 2020 and an analysis of changes in water quality parameters depending on precipitation-runoff extremes for the period from 2013 to 2020 were performed. The relationship between conductivity and flow was monitored using hysteresis loops. The work used data from the experimental profile of KFGG PřF UK on the Slatinný potok and data on flows for the profile Chaloupky in the Rolava from ČHMÚ. The results show that the relationship between conductivity and flow can be analyzed using hysteresis loops, especially in the period with a rapid increase in flow and their shape changes depending on the reconditioning of the basin. Flow dependence was also observed for other parameters, such as iron. Keywords: hydrological drought, flood, surface water quality, peat bog, electrical conductivity, hysteresis loop
Continuum of care in HCV treatment among clients of low-threshold programmes for PWUDs in Prague
Havlíková, Petra ; Mravčík, Viktor (advisor) ; Janíková, Barbara (referee)
Background: Viral hepatitis C (HCV) represents a major public health problem worldwide and also in the Czech Republic. There are as many as 80,000 people have been living with chronic HCV in Czechia since 2015, most of them are/were drug addicts who have been infected by contaminated syringes. Global and national efforts to eliminate HCV are currently underway, focusing primarily on improving the quality of treatment continuity (sustainability, uninterrupted treatment) which involves ensuring the availability of testing for all patients, patients' involvement in their own treatment, sustaining treatment, achieving a response rate and the necessary follow-up care. Objective: To describe the HCV continuum of care in people who inject drugs (mapping testing rate, treatment uptake and treatment completion), and to describe the factors that affect this process. Based on the collected data, to formulate recommendations for addiction care professionals in order to improve HCV continuum of care. Methodology: A questionnaire survey among clients of low-threshold centres in Prague was carried out. The convenient sample consisted of a total of 60 respondents, 20 from each of the three centres. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Data collection was realised in August 2019. Results: Out of the 60...
Causation of develpment change of selected fluvial lakes of Lužnice River in profile Základna
Jaček, Matouš ; Šobr, Miroslav (advisor) ; Havlíková, Petra (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to evaluate developement of selected lakes in area Základna in upper Lužnice basin. The area of interest is located in nature reservation Horní Lužnice, which extends from state border with Austria to Suchdol nad Lužnicí. This part of the river is very preserved almost without any anthropogenic influence. Eventhough it is the middle part of the river, it has developed floodplain with meandering belt, which is typical for lower parts of rivers. Because of its conditions, this area is very convenient for observing natural spills and studying fluvial lakes, which occure here in huge amount. First part of this work describes characteristic of the study area, fluvial lakes and natural spills and floods in the area. The main second part focuses on research of selected lakes and their developement. During several field researches the lakes were mapped and measured and soil samples were taken from the lake beds. Furthermore flow in floodplain during river spill was measured and data from automatic surface level sensors were evaluated, which show mutual connections of fluctuations of the lakes and the river. In conclusion the results of measurement were compared with previous theses regarding this area. Main results are that common spills cause clogging of lakes but intense floods...
Assessment of macroinvertebrates diversity in contex of physical river habitat quality
Nováková, Barbora ; Matoušková, Milada (advisor) ; Havlíková, Petra (referee)
Research of macroinvertebrates is currently an important part of the assessment of stream quality. Basic characteristics influencing macroinvertebrates communities in the streams are elements from the external environment influencing streams, specifically basic geographic parameters of the site, land-use in the catchment and characteristics of the banks. These elements have a considerable influence on effect of the basic parameters in the stream, which are flow, sediment structure, input of organic material and pollution. Research part of the thesis is about the parameters influencing macroinvertebrates communities. Research area of this work includes three different catchments in the upper part of Blanice catchment area near Prachtice. There is one nature stream with forest in it's catchment, stream with a predominantly meadow basin and last stream is characterized by two distinct stretches - a revitalized section and a section with concrete bottom. The subject of this diploma thesis is evaluation of diversity of macroinvertebrates communities in all streams in the research area. Thesis evaluate communities of macroinvertebrate using a wide range of indexes (BMWP score, ASTP index, EPT index a diversity indexes) and compares their diversity by using rank-abundance graph. All results are summarized...
Evaluation of smoking prevalence in patients with Schizophrenia and Depression and the use of ambulance for treatment of tobacco addiction in Bohnice psychiatric hospital.
Havlíková, Petra ; Štěpánková, Lenka (advisor) ; Drbohlavová, Barbora (referee)
Background: The link between psychiatric disorders and smoking is a topic that has only begun the past few years ago. Many studies have shown a high prevalence of smokers among patients with psychiatric disorders which is roughly two or three times higher than in the general population. Despite this phenomenon, the smoking of patients with this diagnosis in the Czech Republic, especially in institutional care, is rather overlooked and often even encouraged. So far, there has been no uniform approach by staff to introduce the necessary, systematic programs, interventions, and smoking cessation training. Staff in these institutions often rely on the belief that these patients are not interested in professional help. Objective: The main objective of the research was to determine the prevalence of smoking in Bohnice Psychiatric Hospital in patients with schizophrenia and depression. The partial objective was to find out whether, and what intervention is provided by staff and what is the interest of patients in quitting smoking. Another aim of the work was to find access of healthcare professionals and patients to smoking cessation intervention in the hospital and then to check the current use of smoking cessation help at Bohnice Psychiatric Hospital. Methodology: A questionnaire survey was conducted...
