Shaya, Jimmy ; Hojka, Vladimír (advisor) ; Velenský, Michael (referee)
Title: An analysis of a basketball player's movement during the game with special focus on the centre position Objectives: This work aims to analyse and then quantify the movement load on the pivot position and compare the differences between the number of movements of ČEZ Basketball Nymburk and Real Madrid Baloncesto in their final game. Methods: The basis of this empirical study is a quantitative research that uses the method of analysis and comparison. To obtain the data, I have analysed the most frequent movements carried out by players in the game. I have collected the number of movements per each second for four positions. Observed group are centres. Movements were described theoretically, biomechanically, technically, or by using rules. After that I have used the comparison to determine the differences, which were implemented into charts and qualified in detail. Results: Movement analysis confirmed my expectations. In comparison of the pivot of an elite foreign team with the best Czech team, I have noticed significant percentage differences. Real Madrid Baloncesto players were higher in position-specific moves, such as post-up, rebounding, boxing-out, contacts, and screens. Unlike the players of ČEZ Basketball Nymburk, who achieved significantly higher values in less significant movements...
Strength training for Parkour and Freerunning Athletes
Chatzimarkakis, Christos ; Hojka, Vladimír (advisor) ; Chrudimský, Jan (referee)
Name: Strength Training for Parkour and Freerunning Athletes Goal: The main goal of this thesis was to draw attention to the concept of parkour/freerunning preparation system as well as training and create a comprehensive overview of the exercises a practitioner can use to improve performance and minimize the chances of injury. Methods: In this work, I used the secondary research method. The source of the information used in this project include data available on the internet and in public libraries. Data available on the internet include videos, public records, and reports by Universities. Data collected from public libraries include books regarding athletics, strength training, parkour, gymnastics, and coaching. Results: The result of this research was a detailed description of the parkour preparation system. Specifically, data showed that physiological, psychological and technical preparation are equally important for the development of a parkour practitioner. It was also realized that every athlete should go through a series of assessments in order for the coach to create an appropriate base conditioning or specificity phase training program. Lastly, the data showed that any athlete can develop his overall strength by performing ground-based movement and progressively working up to low and then...
Warming-up and toning in foolball
Slicho, Tomáš ; Jebavý, Radim (advisor) ; Hojka, Vladimír (referee)
Title: Warming-up and toning in football Objectives: The aim of this work is to compare two types of warming-up by footballers. I assume, that the players will have statistically more significant differences after the toning warming-up, than after the static variant. Methods: The research set consists of 17 elite players in the category of U15, who passed four tests by two selected types of warming-ups during a total of three trainings in a field training experiment. In the result part we used the method of analysis to analyze the results of all tests. We used the comparison when comparing the test results after two different types of warming-ups. The measured values were processed by using basic mathematical-statistical methods. Results: The results provide information on the efficiency and difference of toning and static warming-up based on the obtained values of the performed tests. The values of the players in the tests after the toning warming-up were better by 19.1% than after the static variant. The first hypothesis was thus confirmed. The other two were disproved. Summary: We found that toning warming-up has a statistically more significant effect on the results of the tests of football players than the static variant. The analysis of bobsledder's two-year training preparation cycle
Dvořák, Dominik ; Hojka, Vladimír (advisor) ; Červinka, Pavel (referee)
Title: The analysis of bobsledder's two-year training preparation cycle. Objectives: The aim of this bachelor thesis is the analysis and evaluation of the performance development during the two-year training cycle in bobsleigh sport. The thesis evaluates general and specific training indicators based on completed training of a bobsledder. It depicts the influence of specific training indicators on performance in both 2-men and 4-men bobsleigh starts. Methods: The thesis analyses the training diary which covers two years of preparation, including several general and specific training indicators which are selected and further evaluated. The general training indicators include the amount of training days and individual training units, the total workout time and the time spent on regeneration. Specific training indicators include factors primarily affecting bobsleigh starts. Individual specific training indicators are evaluated on the basis of their level of intensity and their overall classification into the corresponding period of the annual training cycle. Results: The reason of the performance enhancement of the bobsledder was mainly the higher amount of training completed among specific training indicators. The main training goal was the increase of the strength. This increase before the 2017/18...
The relationship of explosive strength and CODS performance
Hönig, Karel ; Hojka, Vladimír (advisor) ; Kokštejn, Jakub (referee)
Title: The relationship of explosive strength and CODS performance Objectives: The main aim of this work is to find out the degrese of relatedness indicators between explosively force abilities and performance in individual Agility tests for U16 and U17 footballers Methods: Testing and measurement was performed on a sample of 32 players aged 15-16 from the Bohemians Prague football team. To determine the player's explosive-force abilities, the Kistler board was used in the BEZ laboratory. Agility testing was based on test batteries for this ability (Arrowhead L and P, Illionois, 505 L and R, K-test and Hexagon). The data measurements was processed by using IBM SPSS statistics 22. Results: I have found that the impact of explosive strength abilities was most evident in Arrowhead and Illinois CODS tests at R = 0,4 - 0,7 and p<0,05. On the contrary, Hexagon test proved to be independent of explosive-strength abilities. In addition, it was found a small correlation value between 505 test and other CODS tests. The influence of isokinetic force on CODS performance of football players
Žáček, Adam ; Hojka, Vladimír (advisor) ; Červinka, Pavel (referee)
Title: The influence of level of isokinetic force on CODS performance of football players. Objectives: The main goal is comparison of influence between isokinetic power of lower limbs and performance in CODS tests. Method: Measured group consisted of players between 15-19 years old from teams Motorlet Praha and Bohemians Praha. Players of one age category passed the tests batery in one day, that consist of agility (Arrowhead L and R, Illinois, K-test, Hexagon test, 505 L and R), Cybex was used to find informations about isokinetic force. Results: The biggest correlation between isokinetic (IK) force and performance in CODS tests was measured between IK tests and CODS test Illinois -0,443. Other tests had from very weak to average correlation. The worst correlation was found between IK tests and Hexagon test - 0,007, which showed insignificant correlation between these tests. Concentric muscle contraction achieved higher correlation than eccentric muscle contraction and with changing degree speed was correlation in concentric muscle contraction lower, while eccentric muscle contraction correlation was slightly higher in faster degree speed. Decathlon Training
Lukáš, Marek ; Vindušková, Jitka (advisor) ; Hojka, Vladimír (referee)
DECATHLON TRAINING Thesis objectives: The aim of this case study was to describe its performance development, characterize athletics training in three training stages, and to analyze in more detail the training and performance progressions in three outdoor competition seasons. The author of this case study attempted to clarify his unbalanced performance results, and to estimate the future performance potential. Methods: This research paper is a case study, and the main methods that were used were description, comparison and data analysis. Results: The case study demonstrates that the author's performance development trend is slightly increasing, including the past outdoor competition season of 2018. The data indicates that the subject of the case study has not reached his performance potential. Individual decathlon competitions contain results that do not match the personal best results in certain individual disciplines. The training phases show that after the preparatory phase, the subject of the case study underwent moderately high training load, which was labeled as the specialized phase due to the athlete's familiarity of the decathlon training. Regarding the cost of the expressed training frequency, the analysis of the last three training cycles showed that the training cycles did not differ...

Lukáš, Marek ; Vindušková, Jitka (advisor) ; Hojka, Vladimír (referee)
DECATHLON TRAINING Thesis objectives: The aim of the thesis was to describe an actual performance process, to characterize an athletic training in its three stages, and to analyse in more detail a training in the last three years training cycles. The other aim was an evaluation of the last three seasons, searching for unbalanced results, and estimation of further performance possibilities. Methods: The methods used in the thesis were description, comparison and analysis. Results: We found out the individual training cycles are consistent to a large extent. The performance had a rising tendency almost to the final training cycle; nevertheless, the performance according to possible performance potential heretofore was not achieved. Better results are achieved in individual competitions, than in the whole decathlon. Keywords: decathlon, training, performance
