Internal IS for travel agency
Selement, Pavel ; Eckhardt, Alan (referee) ; Hoksza, David (advisor)
The task of the work is to design and implement an information system for a travel agency. The system is supposed to assist at business of a small travel agency. Editing of capacities, booking and selling, voucher printing and sale statistics are all problems to deal with. Application is designed only for inside use in a travel agency and for its contract partners, it's not intended as a booking software for clients. There are some accountant information and cost items in system because of this focus. Coffers control can be managed thru the application interface and user management is of course also part of this application. The system allows mass import of data due to a lot of data which have to be inserted into it.
Web Search Engine
Tamáš, Miroslav ; Eckhardt, Alan (referee) ; Galamboš, Leo (advisor)
Egothor is high-performance, full-featured Open Source text search engine written entirely in Java. It is technology suitable for nearly any application that requires full-text search, especially cross-platform. The aim of this work is to implement a complete web search gate of Egothor 2 and a respective administration interface (e.g. reindexing, filtering actions). It must be possible to manage several indices without switching them off-line during the service.
Database of students and their payments
Konárová, Marie ; Eckhardt, Alan (referee) ; Hoksza, David (advisor)
The present work contains a database scheme for managing data about high school students, school clubs or events, attendance to these activities and payments for them. It also includes functions to faciliate the scheduling. An entity-relationship model and a data flow model are described. The defi nition of user roles and their properties is also a part of the project. The database is protected against data inconsistence. A part of user interface is implemented to provide an example of the form of possible further application. The implemented part contains most of the processes supported by one of the user roles. Moreover, it contains a program unit for logging to system. The work includes a CD with source codes for creating all database structures, triggers and procedures. Source codes for the implemented part of user interface are also included.
Mining and management of data on conferences and workshops
Pilát, Martin ; Eckhardt, Alan (referee) ; Žemlička, Michal (advisor)
The goal of this work is to create an application, which would help its users to be acquianted with huge amounts of information on conferences, workshops, congresses, and Symposiums. The number of shown events can be reduced by the use of an advanced system of user-defined filters. The application contains a sophisticated system of user privileges and provides support for creating personal and group calendars. An important part of the application is a module for automated retrieving of information from incoming e-mail messages. This module uses a simple pattern matching for extracting deadlines, topics, name, and other important data on a particular conference. These patterns are stored in a hand-crafted dictionary. The accuracy of this module is about 80% for mining the dates and about 70% for mining other types of data.
Information system for business company
Bartoš, Tomáš ; Eckhardt, Alan (referee) ; Tichý, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of bachelor thesis is to implement information system based on client-server architecture, which offers storehouse management designed for small and medium bussiness companies. System is designed to meet the requests from practice and to offer two common used principles of calculation of cost price - method of weighted mean and FIFO method (First-in-First-out). The accent is put on graphical user interface and handling simplicity on client side and e±ciency, respecting normal forms and ensuring data integrity on server side. Project is written in C# based on .NET Framework 2.0.
Methods for finding best answer with different user preferences
Eckhardt, Alan ; Vojtáš, Peter (advisor) ; Pokorný, Jaroslav (referee)
User preferences are one of new aspects in informatics, e.g. in domain of semantic web. This work tries to cover the whole problematic of user preferences, their modeling, various aspects of generating user preferences and their evaluation. It also studies the area of group decision and finding answer that suits all members of group. Next part follows the paper of Ronald Fagin, Amnon Lotem, Moni Naor about the top-k algorithm. The new independent system for the top-k algorithm is presented, some implementations of this algorithm are tested and the influence of modules of algorithm on the speed and the number of rows are studied.
Experimenty s českými lingvistickými daty a ILP
Dědek, Jan ; Eckhardt, Alan ; Vojtáš, Peter
In this paper we present basic experiments that we have made in connection with our research in the domain of the Semantic Web. These experiments should demonstrate possibilities of employing ILP technique in the task of acquisition of semantic information from text of Czech Web pages. These experiments are preceded by complex linguistic analysis of the texts and the output of linguistic tools is processed in the ILP procedure.
Semantic web
Dědek, J. ; Eckhardt, Alan ; Galamboš, L. ; Vojtáš, Peter
The paper is an overview of possibilities of sematic web, its potential, problems and possible solutions. It cover some aspects - how to obtain structured data, how to quickly process web pages and how to design a simple agent that will make use of such possibilities of semantic web.
User Preferences for Searching in Web Sources
Eckhardt, Alan ; Vojtáš, Peter
Main topic of this paper are user preferences in sematic web environment. We describe a model for querying with user preferences upon RDF data and for ordering of the answer by user aggregation function. Our model has a theoretical base in modification of fuzzy description logic, which is embedable into two-value description logic and extends OWL. We desceribes also experiments, which were done using framework for flexible querying Tokaf. We extended standard algorithms for searching k bet answers, using new heuristics. These heuristics were also tested
