The affect of perinatal hypoxia on locomotor development of laboratory rat
Vachovcová, Sylva ; Mareš, Pavel (advisor) ; Slabý, Kryštof (referee)
Perinatální hypoxie je závažným problémem u předčasně narozených dětí i u dětí narozených v termínu. Představuje vysoké riziko behaviorálních a neurologických poruch, a přestože se současná neonatální intenzivní péče stále zdokonaluje, rozsáhlá mozková léze v důsledku perinatálního inzultu obnáší výrazný klinický problém.
Comparison of reliability of various types of pedometers for Nordic Walking
Matoušková, Markéta ; Slabý, Kryštof (advisor) ; Káfuňková, Petra (referee)
The gait cycle in walking, the gait cycle in Nordic walking, Nordic walking as a physical activity and pedometer SILVA Pole Mate II (technically) are described in the theoretical part. The aim of this study was to compare of reliability of various types of pedometers for Nordic Walking . We compared these pedometers: pedometer Digiwalker, SILVA Pole Mate II and Omron HJ- 720. We compared the reliability of the pedometers on three surfaces: the grass, asphalt and rubble. The present study included 23 individuals (15 women and 8 men). This experiment was realized in a park, where were these surfaces (grass, asphalt and rubble) side by side. The data were analyzed statistically. The results showed that Silva Polemate was the most accurate pole pedometer, the pedometers on the left pole are more accurate and that the relative deviance was lowest on grass road. These pedometers, worn in the waist, were measured inaccurately (RD of pedometer Digiwalker SW 200 = 92%, RD of pedometer Omron HJ - 720 = 22%). These pedometers are unsuitable to be worn on the pole.
Possibilities of influencing blood pressure in spinal cord injury patients during verticalization
Věchetová, Tereza ; Schreier, Bronislav (advisor) ; Slabý, Kryštof (referee)
Orthostatic hypotension is a common problem for individuals with spinal cord lesions, especially in the acute period after spinal cord injury. The first part of this study deals with the theoretical analysis of the pathophysiology of cardiovascular control after spinal cord injury, the definition of orthostatic hypotension and its inclusion within the classification of the syncopal conditions. An important part of the theoretical part is the management of orthostatic hypotension, which brings non-pharmacological therapeutic approaches, and marginally pharmacology, to decrease the severity of this condition. The experimental part focuses on testing of a group of probands with spinal cord injury (11 quadriplegics) on two different types of tilt tables according to the same protocol. The first tilt table is a standard; the second one is Erigo, tilt table with integrated robotic mechanism, which moves the legs to simulate walking. The parameters, such as blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and the occurrence and severity of pre-synkopal symptoms, were compared. The study is based on the assumption that passive leg movement, which is mediated by the Erigo, will maintain venous return, cardiac output, and a significant drop in blood pressure and development of orthostatic hypotension,...
The comparison of submaximal load on the bicacle ergometer, elliptical ergometer and arm crank
Novoveská, Gabriela ; Slabý, Kryštof (advisor) ; Machač, Stanislav (referee)
INTRODUCTION: This thesis is focused on comparison of submaximal load PWC 170 to three different types of cranks together with contrasting various methods of calculating this index. We have chosen one method from those four, which has seemed like having the least error and we have compared it against those three remaining ones. METHODOLOGY: It has been tested on 10 probands (5 men and 5 women) which were in age range from 20 to 29 years and without any serious health problems. Graded test without breaks has been chosen for stress protocol, where every proband started with stress 1 W/kg of his weight on bycycle and eliptical crank. We have used conversion factor 0,5 on arm crank, which means that the stress on this crank started on 0,5 W/kg. The load has been gradually increasing by 0,5 W/kg on each level (0.25 W/kg on arm crank). Every level of load has three minutes duration and number of levels used has been individual because it has been driven by increase of pulse rate. After the proband has reached at least 170 beats per minute we have been continuously increasing the stress till we have reached maximum. We have determined pulse frequency during the examination on the end of each level of stress and also when the maximum has been reached, as well as subjective evaluation of load intensity on a...
Reliability of visually assessed postural stabilization tests
Cíle: Prostřednictvím dvojice zkušených a dvojice nezkušených hodnotitelů stanovit inter- a intra-rater reliabilitu u tří baterií TPS, vypracovat podrobnou popisnou statistiku a porovnat naše výsledky s literaturou. Materiál a metody: Byly vybrány tři baterie aspekčních TPS zaměřených na bederní páteř (Kolář 2006, Luomajoki et al. 2007, Tidstrand a Horneij 2009). Provedení testů bylo nezávisle hodnoceno současně dvěma zkušenými a dvěma nezkušenými hodnotiteli na smíšeném souboru zdravých osob (n = 15, 10 žen, průměrný věk 44,5 ± 11,0 let) a pacientů s vertebrogenním algickým syndromem bederní páteře bez neurologického deficitu a neurochirurgického výkonu na páteři v posledních pěti letech (n = 16, 8 žen, průměrný věk 45,9 ± 13,6 let). Hodnocení testů předcházela jejich formalizace (pozitivita jednotlivých znaků, binární hodnocení celkové pozitivity testu). Ke stanovení reliability jsme použili procentní shodu (a%) a koeficient...
Subsequent changes of anthropometrical parameters after three months physical therapy
Joachimová, Marie ; Radvanský, Jiří (advisor) ; Slabý, Kryštof (referee)
INTRODUCTION: Therapy of obesity is currently based on weight reduction. The recommended strategies are effective for a short period of time but do not have long- term results. A steady rate of regain is observed from 6 months onward, reversion to baseline weight is predicted by 3 - 5.5 years. GOALS: The goal of this study was to evaluate short-term and long-term effects of three months physical therapy on anthropometrical parameters. The next goal was finding predictors of successful and unsuccessful long-term weight maintenance in this study and the literature. METHODS: We recruited 20 overweight or obese women (average BMI 28,6±2,6 kg/m2 ). Four anthropometrical parameters (weight, BMI, waist circumference, hip circumference) were measured at the beginning, end and six months after finishing the program. The differences of parameters were statistically evaluated. Each participant filled in a questionnaire which was focused on potential predictors of successful l or unsuccessful weight maintenance. RESULTS: All anthropometrical parameters were lowered after the program. Six months after the end of the program all the average values of the parameters were increased. These results support findings of other follow-up studies. The influence of the eight selected factors was not proved. Even though...
Comparison of senzitivity of the Omron HJ - 720IT pedometer according to the location on the body
Bohdanová, Markéta ; Slabý, Kryštof (advisor) ; Procházka, Michal (referee)
The aim of this study was to compare the accuracy of a biaxial piezoelectric pedometer Omron HJ-720IT according to a position it was attached to on a body with a classic spring - levered pedometer Yamax SW-200, which was approved to be valid in previous studies. The Total of 57 probands (39 females and 18 males) participated in the study, which contains 3 parts. In the first part the pedometers were tested in a self - paced walking condition ("slow", "moderate" and "very brisk" walking) on a track of 135 m in length. The second part included four-minute sections of walking on a treadmill under controlled conditions at following speeds: 3.2, 4.8 , 6,4 and 7,5 km.h-1 and slopes: 0 %, 5 % and 10 % and two fifteen-minutes sections at 4km.h-1 with no inclination and 6 km.h-1 with 5 % slope. The third part was aimed to record artifacts while going by bus. At no position at speed 4.8 km.h-1 the 1 % error was exceeded. The highest accuracy was achieved with Omron on a belt of(above) a SIAS. It is also reliable in counting of aerobic steps at this position. While going by bus it counted 3 steps/min at most at all positions. Omron Pedometer HJ-720IT proved validity and reliability at various mounting positions under self-paced and prescribed walking conditions. Keywords: pedometer, Omron, Yamax, physical activity,...
