Graphical Educational System
Farbiak, Peter ; Seeman, Michal (referee) ; Štancl, Vít (advisor)
The goal of the theoretical part of this Bachelor's thesis is to introduce basics of learning psychology, principles of programming and algorithms and creating of graphical user interface to reader. Practical part is about creating program which demonstrates principles of basic algorithmic structures by adding graphical objects.
Parallelization and Optimization of Image Processing Applications
Šiška, Jakub ; Seeman, Michal (referee) ; Černocký, Jan (advisor)
This Bachelor's Thesis was performed during a study stay at the École Supérieure d'Ingénieurs en Électronique et Électrotechnique Paris, France. It proposes solution for speeding up image processing algorithm and its adoption for use with real-time video stream from the infra red camera. The first part discusses characteristics and basic principles of the IR technology, followed by specifications of used camera. Ongoing text also proposes solution of problems concerning network communication with the camera. In addition, it describes camera's output stream format characteristics and solution for output visualisation. Substantial part of this work covers issues concerning parallelization and optimization of video stream and image file data processing. Problem of the parallelisation for this case is explained together with implemented parallelization method. Entire theoretical part is supported with the real results, benchmarks, which are presented in the last chapter.
Graphical Educational System
Hotař, Roman ; Seeman, Michal (referee) ; Štancl, Vít (advisor)
The purpose of this thesis is the proposal of the issue of education software for learning algorithms. Work approach to the problem, both from a theoretical point of view, of education and learning to new things, so and more important from a practical point of view for introduction to the process algorithmization. It also discusses the problem of learning algorithms in Czech schools and describes the resulting program, which was created along with this thesis. Contribution of this thesis is the summary of the requirements for the software and implementing software of this type, where is possible to demonstrate the problems and requirements of the draft programs of this kind. This thesis also describes the reactions of teachers to created application.
3D Photo Slideshow Using OpenGL
Dokoupil, Martin ; Fapšo, Michal (referee) ; Seeman, Michal (advisor)
This document describes implementation of photo slideshow editor. This editor can be used to create dynamic sequences from taken photos. Image taken by camera is projected onto three-dimensional sphere and drawn to screen. Then it is posible to rotate and zoom camera over image. Visual output of this editor makes moving over image more real. If panoramic image is used, user is able to free look around. This document describes method which can translate two-dimensional coordinates to three-dimensional space. Shows how to use transformations for moving camera and methods to implement camera zoom. Contains description of user interface and also mentions extensions that were implemented in editor.
HDR Tone-Mapping
Vančura, Jan ; Mlích, Jozef (referee) ; Seeman, Michal (advisor)
This thesis concerns with the introduction to the problematics of images with high dynamic range (HDR) and possibilities of HDR images compression options for display on devices with a low dynamic range (LDR). In the introduction is described historical evolution of recording of reality. It is focusing towards point of view of physics, human visual perception and digital recording. There are described the ways of generating and holding of HDR images. The thesis is corncerned to the techniques of HDR compression, it means the tone-mapping. The different techniques of tone-mapping are explained and specific aproach is targeted to the gradient domain high dynamic range compresion.
Background Reconstruction from Several Photographs
Motáček, Vladimír ; Žák, Pavel (referee) ; Seeman, Michal (advisor)
This thesis concerns the background reconstruction from several photographs (so called depopulation scene efect). There are presented methods for obtaining the background from video and discussion of their use for photographs. The greatest emphasis is placed on the Gaussian mixture model and effort to improve this algorithm due to static image. The photographs should be taken with a tripod.
Rendering Chess Using Ray Tracing
Turek, Vojtěch ; Seeman, Michal (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This work deals with ray tracing technique, focused to rendering of chess scene with procedural texture materials. Based on this knowledge, program that displays specified chess set is designed.
Interactive Animation Viewer and Editor
Ducháč, Michal ; Seeman, Michal (referee) ; Pečiva, Jan (advisor)
Since the introduction of high end graphical workstations, computer animation has quickly replaced the traditional means of animation. Nowadays computer animation has many applications e.g. video games, motion picture industry, media, weather forecasting and many others. This master thesis discusses various techniques used to created animations using computers. Keyframing, is the most common approach in computer animation. Borrowing its name from the concept of traditional hand animation, the workflow process remained the same. Basic principles of animation using key-frames are explained and an Interactive Animation Editor solution based on keyframing is proposed and the implementation of this editor is described. Editor uses the Kochanek-Bartels interpolation of values between each key-frame.
Realtime Weather in a Landscape Visualisation
Vlček, Adam ; Jošth, Radovan (referee) ; Seeman, Michal (advisor)
Thanks to the increasing computation power the complexity and dynamism of virtual reality is continuously improving. This work aims to examine influences of weather in a landscape and the means to simulate and dynamically visualize them in real time on the current personal computer hardware. The main goal is to find quick well looking approximations rather than a complex physically correct simulation. The work covers using modern programmable GPU not only for visualization but also as a powerful simulation instrument. The main topic is water movement in the terrain and its effects on it like erosion, snow melting and moisture impact on vegetation. This requires dynamic terrain texturing and algorithms supporting fast geometry and normals updates.
Tone-Mapping HDR Images
Nejezchleb, Ivan ; Glembek, Ondřej (referee) ; Seeman, Michal (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the high dynamic range (HDR) imaging problematic. It describes process of capturing and storage of HDR images in brief. Main part of thesis deals with techniques of how to display HDR images on common visual display devices, which are not able to represent them directly. This process is called tone-mapping. It is firstly described in general and than the text focuses on several techniques of tone-mapping, mainly on tone-mapping using bilateral filtering.
