The history of preschool institutions in Prague was demonstrated by the development of a nursery school in the district of Prague 6

The work deals with the history of preschool institutions in Prague and its main focus is on the development of nursery schools. Based on primary sources, it describes the first preschool institutions and the establishment of the first kindergarten in Prague. It follows the endeavours to reform nursery schools, mapping their status within the legislative framework. The second part of the work is devoted to the history of a particular nursery school in the district of Prague 6. The topic of the development of preschool institutions is very extensive, thus the work concentrates on the milestone periods. It monitors to what extent the development of these institutions was influenced by social and political changes. How they were reflected in the preschool education legislation and in the opinions on the status of nursery school in society. It shows the transformation of a nursery school that exercised supervision and took care of the children of busy working parents into an educational institution that has become part of the education system. By looking at history, we can learn and understand the historical context based on which we can think about the future.

The Social Principle of the Waldorf School as a Significant Factor Influencing the School Atmosphere

Cesta k tématu této práce vedla jaksi oklikou a začala vlastně již před mnoha lety. Krátce po roce 1989 jsem dostala příležitost strávit rok s mentálně postiženými dětmi jako vychovatelka ve švýcarském w aldorfském ústavu. Příležitosti jsem se chopila a začala se během zbývajícího půl roku učit německy. Začátek nebyl jednoduchý. Teprve po třech měsících jsem se byla schopna domluvit ( a zjistila tak, co asi prožívá těžce postižené dítě neschopné slovně se vyjadřovat). Zúžené obzory z našeho předrevolučního školství se mi počaly velmi rychle rozšiřovat. Zjistila jsem , že výchově i vzdělávání je v ústavu přikládána stejná váha. Úžasné bylo zjištění, že každé jakkoliv těžce postižené dítě má právo na vzdělání stejně jako dítě zdravé. Takové vzdělávání je přizpůsobeno jeho individuálním možnostem, a lze v něm spatřovat smysl. Nadchlo mne množství nejrůznějších nabízených terapií a činností pro děti, které dětem nesmírně v jejich vývoji napomáhaly, a zároveň i naplňovaly jejich životy. Ze vztahu učitelů a vychovatelů vůči žákům bylo cítit partnerství. Po roce stráveném zde jako vychovatelka - praktikantka - jsem se rozhodla zůstat a během dalších tří let jsem souběžně s praxí v ústavu vystudovala waldorfský léčebně pedagogický seminář. Poslední pátý rok jsem dostala příležitost vést skupinu šesti postižených...

The thesis deals with the legacy of Johannes Amos Comenius for the contemporary protestant education; it tries to pinpoint the timelessness of Comenius' thoughts, his pedagogical rules, methods and principles. The religious schools, where these thoughts should be practiced in the first place, have their position in the system of Czech education and provide safe surroundings for children coming from religious families. The history of religious education in Czech and Moravia points to its historical anchors and meaning of its value system for the whole society. Intercultural Education in the Primary School

The thesis deals with possible ways of improvement of coexistence of the future multicultural generation in the field of primary pedagogy in our country. The aim is to analyze the current situation of multicultural education in primary school curriculum in the Czech Republic and find potential influences on forming prejudice. On the basis of these findings we look for the best way how to affect multicultural education in primary school, which is very important when the framework education programs are introduced into use. The text starts with philosophical background of multicultural education. In this part we try to answer questions why people respond negatively to difference and what are their reasons for it, how prejudice develops etc. Our goal is to support the idea of legitimacy of multicultural education as such and its incorporation into training programs. History of learning module homeland study in context of period curriculum wit emphasis on era 1918 - 1938

The aim of the thesis is to look into historical evolution of teachings subject - Homeland study at first stage of primary school. Special emphasis is put on the "first republic Czechoslovakia" period between years 1918 and 1938 when main topics of education were solved on pages of magazine "Školské reformy". In each era has homeland study different target and different content of education. Therfore national curriculum differs in quota of hours. It wasn't always convention that elementary teaching had preceded or had been followed up by homeland study. In some historical periods elementary teaching was even merged with other teaching subjects. It is very interesting to compare different eras of elementary teaching to understand the meaning of this theme.

History and perspective of multilevelled school specified on Jicin region

The target of this diploma thesis has been to process the development of Multileveled School in Jičíněves (district of Jičín) and to demonstrate benefit of the acquired knowledge for school work. The theoretic part devotes to the study of Jičíněves school commemorative books and in a wider view also whole Jičín region. Insight into the development, present position and perspective of the elementary education in the Czech lands with the focus on multileveled schools goes before these chapters. Historic methods and document content analysis has been used for this work. The practice part describes the project realized with pupils of primary school age. Its target has been to acquaint the pupils with history of the school in Jičíněves through activated methods and to impress on their attitude to the school and the place they live. Survey of present situation and perspective of multileveled schools in Jičín region including the school in Jičíněves has been done through the questionnaires and interviews. Vitality of the multileveled schools has been evaluated by analysis of the result.
