Electrically powered plane conceptual design
Ševčík, Igor ; Sklenář, Filip (referee) ; Popela, Robert (advisor)
The master’s thesis deals with conceptual design of a new electrically powered aircraft as assignment for Evektor, s.r.o. company. In the first part of thesis there is more detailed elaboration of small aircraft statistics and their comparison. Thesis then concentrates on assigned parameters and requirements for design. Next section continues with the most important part of thesis, which is optimization of wing used for aircraft design and also analysis of its characteristics. The problematics of preliminary verification of flight performances as well as aircraft dimension design and follow-up weight analysis with consideration of power cells placement is described thereafter. A few different flight configurations is taken into consideration within weight analysis. Final part contains evaluation of optimization and design process.
Mechanisms of regulation of inhibitory factor IF1
Sklenář, Filip ; Dlasková, Andrea (advisor) ; Zelenka, Jaroslav (referee)
Inhibitory factor 1 (IF1) is one of the major regulators of mitochondrial ATP synthase activity, a key enzyme of energy metabolism. Its inhibitory effects are known in conditions such as hypoxia or starvation, but the hypothesis that IF1 inhibits ATP synthase activity even under physiological conditions is still not entirely accepted. Disorders of ATP synthase regulation can be fatal to the cell and have been described, for example, in carcinogenesis and ischemia. It has also been found that silencing of the IF1 gene in pancreatic β-cells increases insulin secretion, and thus, IF1 may be important in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes. The goal of this work is to summarize the current knowledge about the IF1 protein and to obtain new results that will help elucidate the mechanism by which this protein regulates mitochondrial ATP synthase. Specifically, this work deals with the ratio of IF1 protein to ATP synthase in pancreatic β-cells, depending on different culture conditions. It further investigates the occurrence of post-translational modifications of the IF1 protein in pancreatic β-cells (INS- 1E model cells), which may play a role in the regulation of IF1 activity. It also deals with the cellular ATP/ADP ratio, which is one of the key factors for insulin secretion by pancreatic β-cells. An...

Design of UL aircraft for physically handicapped pilots
Hejkalová, Anna ; Sklenář, Filip (referee) ; Bartoněk, Jaroslav (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of operating aircrafts by people with physical disabi-lities. Firstly, it formulates medical eligibility requirements for pilots with mobility restricti-ons. Because there is a large number of movement restrictions and each of them is very indi-vidual, an adaptation for only one of these categories was chosen for the conceptual design of the aircraft in this diploma thesis: limitation of the lower half of the body. The aircraft is designed to best meet the needs of pilots with this limitation of movement, with emphasis on ergonomics, the possibility of independent use without any help of other people and espe-cially on the safety of the user. Furthermore, the work examines possibilities of adjusting the control of aircraft for the disabled, tries to choose the most suitable one which is then desci-bed. In the end, an examination of the UL2 regulation requirements for the designed aircraft is done.
