Mechanisms of differentiation and emplacement of peraluminic granite magma: Říčany pluton, Bohemian Massif
Trubač, Jakub ; Žák, Jiří (advisor) ; Závada, Prokop (referee)
English abstrakt This thesis is focused on emplacement mechanisms of granitic magma into upper continental crust. The studied area is the Říčany pluton due to its unusual and asymmetric shape. Therefore, it represents a suitable intrusion for interpretation different models referring to emplacement of granitic magma. Common model for ascent of magma is incremental diking in present. The Říčany pluton of the Central Bohemian Plutonic Complex is a post-tectonic elliptical shallow-level intrusion emplaced into low-grade Neoproterozoic and Lowe Carboniferous times (~337 Ma). It comprises of outer, more fractionated, strongly porphyritic granite and inner, less evolved, weakly porphyritic granite. Mesoscopic foliation represents an onion-skin pattern and corresponds well to the magnetic (AMS) foliations. Magnetic lineation has a gentle dip (0-20ř) and closely parallels with the pluton contact in its outer part whereas the lineation dips steeply (60-70ř) with a variable trend in the pluton interior. Author interprets these fabrics as a result of a helical flow, which is a faster subvertical flow in the low-viscosity pluton centre being accompanied by a subhorizontal flow in the outer, higher-viscosity (phenocryst-rich) margin. The proposed scenario of the helical magma flow can provide a viable mechanism for the...
Forearc deformation and strain partitioning during growth of a continental magmatic arc: the northwestern margin of the Central Bohemian Plutonic Complex, Bohemian Massif
Dragoun, František ; Žák, Jiří (advisor) ; Ulrich, Stanislav (referee)
This doctoral thesis is focused on analysis of tectonic deformations associated with the Late Devonian subduction followed by the Early Carboniferous continental collision of the Saxothuringian and overriding upper-crustal Teplá-Barrandian units, which led to the growth of a large magmatic arc (the ~354-337 Ma Central Bohemian Plutonic Complex) in the central part of the Bohemian Massif. Far-field tectonic forces resulting from the collision produced ~WNW-ESE to ~NW-SE regional shortening across the forearc upper crust above the subduction zone; the shortening was accommodated by predominantly top-to-the-ESE tectonic transport along the southeastern flank of the Teplá-Barrandian unit. Approaching the magmatic arc margin, the regional structural pattern changes and exhibits significant acrossand along-strike variations interpreted as a result of strain partitioning, where the Saxothuringian/Teplá-Barrandian convergence interacted in different ways with the intruding magma pulses. Around the voluminous, northeasterly ~354 Ma Sázava pluton the principal shortening was at high angle to the forearc-facing intrusive contact and the host rocks were significantly thermally softened. The regional top-to-the-ESE tectonic transport converted here into arc-parallel ductile flow within the structural aureole...
Subduction-driven shortening and differential exhumation in a Cadomian accretionary wedge: The Teplá?Barrandian unit, Bohemian Massif
Hajná, Jaroslava ; Žák, Jiří (advisor) ; Franěk, Jan (referee)
2. English abstract This doctoral thesis is focused on analysis of tectonic deformations a geodynamic evolution of Neoproterozoic and Lower Paleozoic rocks of the Teplá−Barrandian Unit along the northwestern margin of the Prague basin (central Bohemian Massif). Using a wide range of modern methods, correlation of finite deformation patterns in different units allowed separation of structures formed during Cadomian and Variscan orogeny and interpretation of tectonic processes and tectonic history of the Cadomian orogenic belt during late Neoproterozoic. The research found direct evidence for and enabled new interpretations of Cadomian tectonic processes in the Bohemian Massif, including a succesion of deformation phases, quantification of finite deformation gradients and mechanisms. The different data sets were finally combined into an overall geotectonic model of Cadomian orogeny and its Variscan tectonothermal overprint in the Bohemian Massif, as well as the data were used for correlation with other Avalonian−Cadomian terranes. 5
Možnosti použití žita a dalších obilovin pro surogaci při výrobě piva
Žák, Jiří
Bachelor's thesis Possibilities of rye and other cereal grains use as brewing adjuncts focuses on minority cereals and their properties relevant for brewing industry, with special regard to rye (Secale cereale) and triticale (× Triticosecale). As available studies suggest, triticale seems to be a promising material to be used in larger quantities as a source of starch, or to complement nitrogen and enzyme poor adjuncts. Rye, on the other hand, is a rather troublesome grain and offers little advantages for an extensive use. Nevertheless, it can be a valuable material for specialty beer production, due to its capability to impart specific flavours. With regard to gluten-free beer production, further attention should be paid to rarely used millets, especilally teff (Eragrostis tef).
Influence of electricity generation on the environment
Žák, Jiří ; Novotný, Jan (referee) ; Matoušek, Antonín (advisor)
The concern of this Bachelor Thesis is current structure of electric energy sources in Czech Republic and their influence on the environment. The theoretical part maps the current state of energetics, structure of sources, consumption and installable output in ES CR. In the thesis, there is shown evolution of balance of electricity since 1988 and netto production of electricity in CR. There is also decribed export and import of electricity in the year 2008 and determination of the influence of different energetic equipments on the environment. The practical part deals with the emission of individual types of power stations, their manufacturing, calculation and possibilities of decreasing amount of carbon dioxide emission from the electric energy manufactories. Next point considers predicted development of equipments in relation to the environment. In the end, there is the overall evaluation of achieved information and results with influence on the environment.
Electricity blackout study with regard to the nuclear power plant Dukovany
Žák, Jiří ; Fejta, Libor (referee) ; Radil, Lukáš (advisor)
The entire diploma thesis analyses causes, consequences and repercussions of an electricity grid network blackout and its impact to the respective consumers. Remarkable blackouts recorded since 1965 are briefly described and basic available information is considered. The grid standard fixing measures and electricity delivery priorities are characterized. The thesis also pays attention to entire Czech Republic grid availability and its blackout endurance as well as to its robustness within last several years. Indirect Fukushima event influence to the Czech Republic electricity system is mentioned. The main part of the thesis comprises of four big European grid blackouts causes and consequences, their comparison to each other and to the Dukovany nuclear power plant grid blackout drill scenario. The preventive and standard corrective measures against blackouts are pointed out.
Aircondition of multifunctional hall
Žák, Jiří ; Rubinová, Olga (referee) ; Uher, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis is developed for the design of air conditioning equipment for multifunctional hall in Brno. The specified object is designed hot-air heating and air conditioning. The theoretical part focuses on the problems of return gainig heat. Project part project has developed to implement the air conditioning equipment for screening room and foyer with toilets, first mechanism is for air condition and second mechanism is for hot air-heating.
