Prediction of surface tension of binary mixtures with the parachor method
Němec, Tomáš
The parachor method for the estimation of the surface tension of binary mixtures is modified by considering temperature-dependent values of the parachor parameters. The temperature dependence is calcu- lated by a least-squares fit of pure-solvent surface tension data to the binary parachor equation utilizing the Peng-Robinson equation of state for the calculation of equilibrium densities. A very good agreement between experimental binary surface tension data and the predictions of the modified parachor method are found for the case of the mixtures of carbon dioxide and butane, benzene, and cyclohexane, respectively. The surface tension is also predicted for three refrigerant mixtures, i.e. propane, isobutane, and chlorodifluoromethane, with carbon dioxide.

Public-private partnerships and their praxis in EU member states
Sisková, Monika ; Němcová, Ingeborg (vedoucí práce) ; Němec, Tomáš (oponent)
Hlavným cieľom diplomovej práce je komparácia PPP praxe členských štátov EÚ a zhodnotenie situácie ich PPP trhu a aktuálnych problémov, ktorým musia dané štáty v súčasnosti čeliť. Práca je rozčlenená na štyri základné kapitoly. Východiskom práce je teoreticko-právna koncepcia verejno-súkromných partnerstiev: definícia PPP, charakteristické rysy, výhody a nevýhody PPP, faktory (ne)úspechu verejno-súkromných partnerstiev. Ďalšia časť sa venuje prístupu a roli Európskej únie, EIB a EBRD v podpore a realizácii PPP projektov. Nasleduje zhodnotenie vývojového trendu trhu PPP v EÚ, vyzdvihujúceho základné kvantitatívne rozdiely medzi štátmi EÚ. Jadrom práce je kapitola štvrtá, ktorá na základe kritérií (legislatívne a inštitucionálne zabezpečenie PPP, metodiky PPP, priemerná hodnota PPP, korupcia, transparentnosť a charakter verejného sektora) analyzuje a porovnáva prax PPP Veľkej Británie, Talianska, Grécka, Švédska, Poľska a Slovenska, t.j. štátov charakterizovaných kvalitatívne rozličným stupňom aplikácie PPP a so značne rozličnými podmienkami na ich realizáciu.

Nucleation rate in binary cavitating systems - A comparison of experimental data and classical nucleation theory predictions
Němec, Tomáš
A brief review of recent literature on proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) modelling is presented and the governing equations of the transport processes in the proton exchange membrane are presented. Consequently, the model of water transport in the membrane electrode assembly of a fuel cell in commercial software FLUENT is investigated. The aim of this work is to test the possibilities of the PEMFC modelling using FLUENT. Special attention is given to the water management and the properties of the fuel cell membrane.of four binary mixtures, i.e. diethylether - nitrogen, propane - carbon dioxide, isobutane - carbon dioxide, and chlorodifluoromethane - carbon dioxide. The predictions of the classical nucleation theory show very good agreement with the measured nucleation rates.

Klasická nukleační teorie a modelování kavitačních jevů

Microscopic Surface Tension in the Classical Nucleation Theory
Němec, Tomáš ; Maršík, František
The surface tension of liquid clusters in the Classical Nucleation Theory (CNT) is investigated using the Gibbs adsorption isotherm. A theoretical derivation is given that shows the relation between macroscopic (plain-surface) surface tension and the surface tension of microscopic spherical clusters of the CNT. An exemplary water – ethanol binary condensing system is studied. It is shown that by using the microscopic surface tension in nucleation calculations an exceptional agreement between theoretical and experimental nucleation rates is achieved.
