An analysis of piano teaching method in Albania and propose of system innovation on piano teaching

This diploma thesis is dedicated to the needs of the piano teaching for kids from 6 to 9 years old in Albania who decide to study piano playing. This work contains a methodology that is based on professional playing starting from middle C to counter hand movement to playing directly with both music clefs, the treble and the bass one. The methodology is inspired by the world's modern methods and needs for the proper development of the child. Contains well-known, popular songs and classical pieces in a lighter version to achieve more easier and fun piano beginnings. The work is divided into five chapters, which introduce not only the musical life in Albania, but also the insufficient conditions for teaching piano. It also contains a selection of the most famous piano textbooks and albums that exist in Albania, which were used before for piano teaching and probably from that time nothing better or improved came out. And last but not least, the aim that is wanted form this work to be achieved is bringing the new ideas and innovation of my own piano methodology.

Music-movements activities in development of musicality at primary school-aged children

The diploma thesis is devoted to the development of music and musical movement activities at a younger school age. It consists of theoretical and practical part. The first parts acquaints the reader with the characteristics of younger school age and with the somatic- physiological, psychological and social characteristics of this period. It also describes the means that affect the child's musicality. This work lists the basic music-movement activities and their important aspects. The conclusion of this part is focused on expertise publications focusing on piano playing,where the authors in their works use movement elements or musical-movement activities to directly improve the influence of playing the piano. The practical part is based on theoretical knowledge. We chose a pedagogical experiment with the technique of one-group and we used piano compositions fot this purpose. The issue of qualitative research is focused on the connection of piano playing with musical- movement activities. There are objectives, research methods, the subject and its organization described in the research part. The application of musical didactic tools for teaching piano at elementary art schools

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of using musical teaching aids in the study of piano playing at music schools up to the 5th year of study. First, it presents individual areas of children's psychological and psychomotor development, in which the author demonstrates the link between children's development and the positive effects of the use of musical teaching aids in teaching. The subsequent focus of the work is an introduction of and a proposal for the use of specific musical didactic aids for the study of piano playing, i.e. in the subjects Piano and Music Theory, in the framework of education at music schools. Attention is paid to individual aspects influencing the functionality of these aids. The results of a questionnaire created and sent to piano teachers are also presented, on the basis of which, among other things, a selection of the described musical didactic aids is based. The thesis was created with the intention of acquainting beginning teachers with a wide range of musical teaching aids. It can help with better orientation in the available materials for pedagogical practice and with a more effective conception of teaching. Interpretative and pedegogical prehension of Bedřich Smetana's Bagatelles and Impromtus cycle

The aim of this diploma thesis is a profound understanding of the compositional intention and interpretation of the piano cycles Bagatelles et Impromtus by Bedřich Smetana. The first part of the thesis focuses on composer's personality and circumstances associated with the origin of this music piece. The second part of the thesis deals with a complex analysis of individual parts of the music cycle and its educational and interpretative grasp. Part of this thesis is an interview with pianist Miroslav Sekera and his view on the interpretation of the work.

Piano competitions and their importance for the development of piano students at Schools of Art

This diploma thesis focuses on the phenomenon of the piano competitions. The main aim of the theoretical part is to describe the historical development of the piano competitions and to analyse the world's most recognized piano competitions. The following chapter discusses the topic of a piano career. It provides an extensive knowledge of the piano competitions, gathered from the famous pianists and piano teachers. Their pedagogical statements have been used in the practical part of the thesis to define hypothesis for the research survey, and also to gain a better insight into the use of the piano competitions as a pedagogical tool in the piano students development. The final part analyses the survey results and summarizes the piano competitions that are organised for young pianists in the Czech Republic. In addition, it provides practical recommendations for young students and their teachers on how to prepare for a piano competition.

Piano interpretation of baroque music at music schools

This thesis deals with piano interpretation of baroque music at music schools. The first chapter describes the specifics of baroque interpretation. This chapter contains nine subchapters which deal with following topics of baroque interpretation: expression, tempo, usual rhythm changes, ornamentation, basso continuo, posture and fingering, articulation and phrasing, dynamics and the last subchapter is about historically informed interpretation. The second chapter describes the beginnings of teaching polyphony. It mentions materials for the beginnings of teaching polyphony as well as some selected instructive pieces which can be used in teaching. The third chapter contains materials for teaching baroque music at music schools. The fourth chapter deals with pedagogical an interpretative approach to specific baroque instructive pieces from aforementioned materials and there are mentioned some general didactic principles too. The aim of this thesis is to understand the issue of interpretation of baroque pieces at music schools and to create a text that can be used as an inspiration for other students and young teachers of music at music schools. Methodological approaches to teaching improvisation at primary art school.

This work deals with the teaching of improvisation in basic art schools. It describes the contribution and signifikance of improvisation in the pupil's life, in his musical development. The aim of this work is to focus on the practical aspects of piano teaching, both from the pupil's point of view (pupil's musical needs, difficulties) and from the teacher's point of view. The work refutes the opinion that improvisation is conditioned by special, individual talent, but emphasizes that a suitable approach and methodology can develop improvisation in each student. The work also deals with some of the possible difficulties in learning to play the piano, and these are stress and tremor and musical dyslexia. Work connects both of these phenomena with the ability to improvise and shows how improvisation can have a positive effect on these learning difficulties. Another goal of this work is to map the current state of teaching improvisation in our basic art schools. For this purpose, a questionnaire was created addressing teachers throughout the Czech Republic. The aim of the questionnaire was to find out the state of teaching improvisation at basic art schools, the content of teaching improvisation, the individual time allowance of this teaching and the materials used to teach improvisation.
